Name: Transgendered in the Popular Media

Description: Some of the media personalities that have been an inspiration for me both in life and the arts. My "discovery" of Nancy Nangeroni, Candy Darling, Eva Robins and Kate Bornstein in particular, represent major milestones in life's journey. With these four ladies as my example, my personal ideas on HRT, SRS and who I am were formulated. Many of us feel very isolated, are afraid to come out of the closet and tell our friends and families that we are transgendered. These brave people came out to the world, some by choice others were forced out by the media. Their struggle has made the general public a little more aware, a little more sympathtic and a little easier for all of us. It is comforting to know we are not alone
