2. Leslie Feinberg Lecture - Fresno, CA
Leslie Feinberg is a grassroots activist, journalist, author and lecturer on behalf of Lesbian/gay/bisexual and transgender movements. He is presented in partnership with Central California Alliance, Gay-Straight Alliance Network, Imperial Dove Court de Fresno-Madera, Inc., United Student Pride and the Division of Student Affairs at California State University, Fresno.

3. Maggie Hawkins - Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center 10th Anniversary Speaker Series
Maggie Hawkins, the second Director of the LGBT Resource Center, attended UCR as an undergraduate 1977-1982. She worked at the Women’s Resource Center 1982-1984, and directed the LGBTRC 1997-1999. Maggie earned a Master of Public Health (USC) and currently works for the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center. Maggie will speak about coming out as bisexual at UCR and changes in campus climate.

4. Steven Shum - Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center 10th Anniversary Speaker Series
Steven Shum became the first director of a University of California LGBT Resource Center in 1993. He arrived at UCR after years organizing UCLA’s queer Asian Pacific Islander group. Steven currently works with a public policy and consulting firm in the bay area. He will speak on “The First Year,” sharing how UCR created the first California campus LGBT Resource Center.

5. Tranquil Calley - Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center 10th Anniversary Speaker Series
Tranquil Calley will speak in honor of World AIDS Day sharing her family’s story. Tranquil’s son Kalyn survived a gay-bashing on the UCR campus. He spoke out as a gay man when most UCR students were “in the closet.” Kalyn later lived with AIDS, passing away in 1994. Tranquil will share her own perspective on how the UCR campus climate has changed and why her son’s life can be an inspiration to the current UCR campus community.

6. Trans Forum 2002 - Akron, OH
Using Dr. Drew Pinsky's Dialogue as a starting point, this workshop will provide a wide-ranging, introductory exploration of the issues that are experienced by transgender persons. Songs from the Sissy Show, the world's first transgender musical, will be interspersed with the panel's presentation. Panelists will include persons who have personally experienced the difficulties and joys of living honestly with their sexual orientation and gender identity. Other panelists will be individuals who have worked in counseling and consultative relationships with crossdressers/transvestites, transexuals, intersexuals, other self-identified transgender people.
