Description: Steven Shum became the first director of a University of California LGBT Resource Center in 1993. He arrived at UCR after years organizing UCLA’s queer Asian Pacific Islander group. Steven currently works with a public policy and consulting firm in the bay area. He will speak on “The First Year,” sharing how UCR created the first California campus LGBT Resource Center.
