Description: It is generally expected that any persons approved for hormone therapy and who may be anticipating sex reassignment surgeries, will be following the principles determined by the Standards of Care of the Harry Benjamin International Association on Gender Dysphoria. It is established that there must be a minimum period of one year of hormone therapy and one year of real life experience in the chosen gender before the board can approve a candidate for sex reassignment surgeries.
