Not only is his phone etiquette exquisite, he has given me personal attention regarding my thoughts or concerns of my surgery. I had an orchiectomy with Dr. Reed on May 3rd, and I am 100% happy. He did a great job, I never had any pain ( I was lounging by the pool the next day) and was only left with a tiny, tiny scar. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Reed is a very meticulous and caring surgeon, and is an excellent artist as well. His office and surgery center is sparkling clean. He and Veronica, a wonderful RN stayed with me throughout the night. The following morning they brought me to the Baltic Hotel and tucked me in, and saw me every day for a week. Never in a rush. Very happy with the result; every thing works fine. Got interested in his work via the photos on his web-site. At first thought they were genetic females. Plan on a touch up, 3 months afterwards if you are looking for an exceptional cosmetic result which is done at no charge. Joslyn

After seeing the many photos on his web-site which were so far above what I had seen elsewhere, I initiated a consultation with his office. Dr. Reed personally spent over an hour with me and then we had countless E-mails and calls after that. Always a perfect gentleman. We set a date, went through the check out list, had the surgery and all went quite well. Left Miami on the 7th day, fairly comfortable, as forecasted with smiles. He has hand held mirrors in every room. I would recommend him for anyone considering vaginoplasty or vaginoplasty revision. His staff is fantastic, especially Anne and Theresa. Cristina at the Baltic Hotel is another plus. There were 3 other patients there and we met and started to socialize.

Learned of Dr. Reed after seeing the spectacular results of a close and proud friend. She is a professional dancer and earns more tips than her genetic female team members. His office is Quad A approved surgery center. Did a background check and contrary to what may have been implied by another reviewer, Dr. Reed's record for disciplinary action and malpractice suits is absolutely flawless. You can check this for yourself under physician profiling, State of Florida (a doing business in the sunshine State). The only time Dr. Reed has been in court for medical reasons is to testify as an expert witness on someone else's behalf. Anne, the office manager is awesome. She is woman's woman. From the very moment she picked up the phone I knew she was completely supportive of me and even offered a professional courtesy discount cause I was between jobs. When I woke up from anesthesia, Dr. Reed was by my side stroking my check telling me all went well, and took care to be be sure there was enough ice down below to minimize bruising. He then saw me 7 days straight, weekends too, and answered all my questions both when in Miami and later when I got home. Totally direct and honest. With pleasure I can recomnmend Dr. Reed as an outstanding, dedicated and compassionate transsexual surgeon. From the moment my spouse and I attended his initial office consultation, till our last post-operative visit which concluded with big hugs and some tears, I have been overjoyed at the results and attention he has provided. My spouse who was invited with my permission to be present during dressing changes was similarly impressed. Would gladly do it again, but thank God this is just a figure of speech. I'm there. Recommended to Dr. Reed by one of my friends in Atlanta who had a very successful result. Was done in early April and am very gratified with the outcome. He insisted during my first dressing change on day three I get a mirror and look. I already caught the glimpse of approval in my fiance's eyes. Very attentive physician. Everything has to be just so and worth it in the end. May resee him in 3 months for closure of the anterior commissure which he will do gratis. He deserves the highest rating.

well I cant believe anyone would call Dr Reed Rude or Arrogant. you may say you were unhappy with your result or whatever and People cannot dispute it because ultimately you are the only one that can be happy or unhappy with it.. but to say this man is capable of being rude or arrogant is totally rediculous.. both Dr Reed and ANN are very polite and professional I didnt feel like it was all about the money at all.. I am completely satisfied with his and her professionalism the operation of the office in whole.. I cant say I am totally pleased with the results of my surgery because it was too recent and hasnt had time to completely heal. but I have high confidence. -James

Went to him in '06. He and Ann are characters, some will find them engaging and some off-putting. The low cost has to do with the outpatient setting. If you can spend a whole lot more go to Colorado, if you can't, be sure you bring someone who can be there for you 24/7 as you will be in a hotel room. It worked well for me and I found Dr. Reed caring and attentive (but godawfully busy!!!). His accessibility by phone is amazing, though. YMMV

It seems that all of the negative comments are from F2Ms, or am I wrong? Maybe F2M surgery is just more complicated, more risky? I've worked with Dr. Reed for my HRTs, and find him to be very dedicated and personable. I would like to see more details from the ones here who have expressed disappointment or hostility toward him

Well i just want everyone to know that i currently had surgery on Oct. 12, 2010..and the experience was what i expected..Dr. Reed is the greatest person as well as surgeon by far that i have met...From the first day that i arrived and had my consultation to the very last day that i seen him he showed me every courtesy and was always eager for me to ask questions...he was never in a rush...his assistant Anne is an Angel..words cannot describe how comforting she is...after the surgery there was no pain at at all..i recovered in the Baltic Hotel with Christina she is great always wanted to know if i was doing good...after returning home i went to have my stitches removed and my Doctor was amazed at how it was only 13 days after surgery and how good everything looked..Thank you Dr. Reed...

i had penis lengthing and fat for girth.both were big mistakes.dr. reed guranteed me 1/4 inch in length.maybe more.that was it no more.what he failed to tell me was when i got an ercetion my penis points straight down.horrible.he gurranteed me as much girth with no problems.not true.after 2 months fat started disapearing incredible fast.had the fat surgery down 2 more times with no help.developed lumps and bumps in my penis.now no women wants to be with me.had that done in the 90s.reed new it didnt work at that time but he lied and said it did because of the money he made doing it.i believed with all my heart what he told me,beacuse he was a doctor.well he proved to me that doctors can be crooks to.i have lived a lonely life without the companionship of a woman because of what he did to me.some times i even think he knows and enjoys that

I had my initial lengthing and girth addition(alloderm) with Dr Whitehead which was extremely success and I was happy with the results. After Dr Whitehead had become sick I told him I wanted second thickening surgery with alloderm. He STRONGLY advised against Dr Reed saying he had to correct many of his surgeries in the past. . . I DIDNT LISTEN!!! So I went to Dr Reed and it has been a NIGHTMARE: 1) I asked if it was ok to do lip in my pubic fat area at the same time as Dr Whitehead wouldnt do it. He said it would be fine. 2) After the thickening and lipo surgery my penis swelled up like a balloon... Turns out the idiot didnt know that the lympatics wouldnt drain after aggressive lipo which created infection in the area.. 3) I was rushed to the hospital in my home city and given intravenous antibiotics.. IT didnt help. It got worse and more painfull and the local hospital didnt understand the surgery so they didnt know how to treat it... I called Dr Reed.. He said I needed IMMEDIATE removal of the grafts and irrigation ASAP! He was away from the office and I had to PAY FOR HIS FLIGHT to meet me in Florida. 4) I struggled to get on a plane and made it there in time for him to rip open my penis, remove all the grafts (even the ones from Dr Whitehead except one that was vascularized)... 5) This is only the beginning.... 6) I woke up with tubes through my penis and had to put some red stuff in the holes until they closed. It was disgusting... My grafts were gone and the great surgury that Whitehead did was gone.. My penis was now back to its original. 5) I developed scar tissue and my penis length became reduced by 1 inch!!! 6) I called him and he said to stretch it... 7) He said he would do me a favor and perform thickening surgery after I healed for the cost only of the grafts.. 8) One year later I went back... MISTAKE !!!!! 9) He added two more grafts, made them too narrow and removed one of the scars on my penis from the tubes prior...!!! 10) MESS!!!! My grafts twisted and my penis looks deformed now and that the grafts have twisted. I emailed him again after this telling him what happened... He didnt respond... *** A simple extra thickening surgery NIGHTMARE!!! THis man is a NIGHTMARE!!!

Dr. Reed offers patients a choice of 2 hotels, the Baltic where Christina is a very compassionate owner manager and actually lives there. I would describe this hotel as advanced tourist classs. Breakfast food and cold cuts in the lobby everyday, fresh Danish, coffee and juice, and clean white linens always. She is running at near full or full capacity every day. So you do need to make reservations. The other option is Daddy O's, one block from the office, about 70 dollar more expensive per night. Courtney is usually at the desk and also caring. If you are not happy there, you may be very difficult to please and certainly consider other resources. Francine

Dr. Reed had 5 patients at the Baltic Hotel last month all at one time and we got to socialize at the lounge. Every one seemed pretty happy to me. A few of my friends will be seeing him this summer. We got plenty of attention, regards to Anne and Veronica in the recovery room. Dr. Reed and his nurse personally drove me to the Baltic and tucked me into bed. Dr. Reed has done a superb job, now 8 months out. Orgasmic 3 weeks after surgery, stream splattered at first then became confluent. Returned 4 months later for touch-ups and in addition to my work list, he made a few other suggestions, and insisted when the dressings were removed I looked at everything with a mirror. I was overwhelmed with happiness. I no longer check it out daily, that's my boyfriend's job, but glad to know it is there and works, and is a turn-on. The Baltic Hotel is economical and Christina is extremely pleasasnt. Even went to CVS to pick up my meds. Dr. Reed saw me daily and one day surprised me with a large bouquet of flowers. He is very fussy about getting ready for surgery, do's and don'ts to minimize bruising and went over the check-out list twice with me. Remember the ring pillow, you don't want to be sitting on your incision for a few weeks. Yes, it was worth it. Was only 1 long block from the Atlantic Ocean. By the second day I was in the lobby having breakfast with the other guests. Bring a housecoat, and by the 4th day, was checking out the neighborhood and having dinner at a sidewalk cafe. Plan on getting lots of attention and patient care. It is good to know even when I returned home, I could pick up the phone and reach Dr. Reed either immediately or within a few minutes. He and my GP got along famously. This was new to him and he hopes to be referring more patients in the future. Caitlin, the happy camper

I suggest all the injured people to get organized and to start fighting with him with all the legal ways avaliable.If needed we can contact FBI and IRS because this man is stealing money from the people.If you want to give up he will not give you the deposit back wich is nothing else but stealing large ammount of money wich is a crime that he is trying to legalize.And because they loves only money orders and cash i wonder if everything is reported to the IRS at the time of tax preparation.Probably is not bad idea to induce some checking.Then we have to contact the Board who certified him and gave him the rights to practice to see what they will say.no one has rights to injure people and to ruin their lifes.I am not injured by him but all the horrable stories i read ...OMG..And this terrible arbitration agreement-this document must be sent to the lawyers to check it -it stincks.

There is a lot of horrable stories about Reed.A lot of complicated surgeries and permanently injured patients.I wander how people can go there.I went 2 yeras ago and didnt like him;he was completely different in person so i run away.i was one night at White house hotel just to see how it is because he recommend it-i never seen more disgusting and dirty place ,so bad smell.Iam so sorry for all the injured people.Please stay away from him,and he is really old,probably his hands shake and what he pretend he can do is a very precise surgeries,so stay away people;at this age he can not be so precise any more.A terrible story is posted in Ripoffreports.com, so go ahead and read it before go there.OMG!!!

Probably the best and most knowledgeable SRS surgeon out there today. Did careful research, chose him, and met his staff. Very reassuring and very direct and honest approach. I am quite happy with what was done. He saw me every day at Daddy O's Hotel. Was always available for questions, even on weekends. With my permission, my partner, an RN was with me most of the time, and we both felt positively about Dr. Reed. Would do it all over again with Dr. Reed. Did interview with a few other doctors, and the time he spent with me and the honesty and his photographs explained every step of the way which was very reassuring. Vernon also felt he was on our side. Dr. Reed wanted so much to make me his poster patient. We were fussed over. A small erosion healed after 2 weeks and I am told this is normal. Met with Dr. Reed at the American Urological meeting in Washington DC few days ago. Had a lively discussion about the need for educating urologists and plastic surgeons on vaginoplasty. He mentioned he will be having a large paper coming out in a few months, which has been accepted by a prestigious peer-reviewed journal. He said expect the article to be be very comprehensive. Also will be presenting a paper at the WPATH/Southern Comfort meeting in Atlanta this fall for the surgeons workshop which which immediately precedes the plenary sessions. Go Dr. Reed! Vanessa

This doctor is a complete butcher.I went there for a simple procedure that he still pretend he can do.He charged me a lot of money -almost twice the amount he first said on the phone and e-mails.He rushed me to sign all the papers, never gave me a chance to read carefully and then rushed me into the OR if this place can be called OR at all.During the surgery he left a couple of times to do something and because i was with local anesthesia it started to expire and i had a lot of pain to the end of his "surgery".Then a had to go back to the White house hotel and like somebody else said i developed an infection,because this place is absolutely disgusting.He never came to see me,or answer my phone calls.Dont believe all these comments-they are fake like he is -just fake advertisement to hook you up and then you will be sorry all your life.I had to underwent 3 more surgeries after that-it cost me a lot of money and suffering.Dont go there -he is old and can not work .And dont believe all these noncence that he will write something-must probably he is going to copy someone else's work-like he is using Perovich's photos in his website.This unleashed criminal doesnt have boundaries.

In my experience all the negative comments about Dr. Reed are absolutely true.He is nice and polite only on the phone before he hooked you up.After that he is an asshole, very stinky one.He is trying to survive in that business but there are a lot of much younger and skilled surgeons so it is very hard for him.He created a system to do money by forcing the patients to have surgeries with him.The scheme is very simple-he ask you to pay a nonrefundable deposit to book a date,pretending he is very busy in which i doubt a lot,then when you go for your surgery they show you the arbitration agreement.They are rushing you to sign it before you read it but if you have chance to read some parts a lot of bells start ringing .You usually will want to give up but because of the money you already invested you will go ahead and will have the surgery with that jerk,for which you will be sorry all your life after.And you can not do nothing because you signed the agreement.Very simple disgusting method of frauding and injuring people.The good news is that some people woke up and investigating him.I heard somebody is organizing all the injured people and they will apear very soon on the media to say the whole truth about him.this must be done years ago-he injured so many boys and girls .All these good comments are his own .He obviosuly has a lot of e-mail addresses and listing them here pretending these are different people.Something that everybody can do.Dont believe him.He is an old ku-ku.

Ok.Let me share my opinion here too.I think that going to this doctor Reed is not safe at all.If there is so many bad comments about him it must be a red flag in your mind that there is something wrong.I used to be to Dr.Alter in Beverly Hills for braest augmentation-before go there they sent me at home a big folder with different papers but noting like this Arbitration agreement Dr.Reed asked you to sign.And their financial policy is very clear and you can pay everything with your credit/debit card which is very convinient because you can trace your money.The result with Dr.Alter is just guarantied-he is a very high class surgoen-yes-a little more expensive but just a little and i think nobody is going to mind to pay a little more for the best result possible, especially when it comes to such a serious surgeries like changing the sex.And couple of years ago he wrote a very big book about genital reconstruction.The article that Reed is going to post somewhere is probably something no one will take seriously, because of his bad reputation.For him the best he can do is to retire.

I went to his office 3 years ago for a consultation.After i paid 250 usd for it Ann gave me a papers to fill out -my personal data, medical history things like this.Meanwhile a couple came-the girl was one of the transgender who obviously had a surgery with that 'doctor"-she was walking bending over her body all the time and crying from the pain-she couldnt stretch her body from the pain.She was keeping her hands on her stomac trying to relief the pain.I will never forget her face-so much suffering.I asked her boyfriend what happened and he said she got a surgery 3 months ago and got a lot of complications after that.Then he came close to me and said run away from here.And i ran -i even didnt asked the money back.I am sure this is not a good place to go -i saw that poor girl with my own eyes.I am still shaking when i remember her face.And no one of the staff came out to see her untill i was there.Terrible experience.Since then i totally gave up the idea to have SRS.So much trauma,no, thanks.

I went to him 3 years ago for penis lenghtening.He promised a lot at the begining.At the time of surgery and after that i had terrible pain.After the surgery i was bleeding a lot but he didnt care at all.my incision healed very sloww-months and i had swelling for almost a year. I didnt get any lenght added.Instead he did something wrong and now my penis instead of pointing straight is all the time turned to the right side and i still have a numbness in the penis.I think he is not very clear with the human body-probably he is a vet.doctor but he has a lot of connections and i can not do noting because of the paper i signed.if you love yourself dont go there. I know Kim H (who posted yesterday), and I have asked her and her partner about their experience with Dr. Reed and as she said they seem to have had a decent experience. None of the attitude, or rushing, or rudeness, or any of the nasty things people have been claiming here. I also know a girl who I am trying to get in touch with right now who had her SRS with Dr. Reed. As far as I am aware she had a good experience but I want to question her on the issues that have been brought up here so that I can make a fully informed decision. I honestly fully expect her to disagree with a lot of the nastiness that Dr. Reed is being accused of. As of right now, since my 'Real Life' friends are having good experiences with Dr Reed, I fully intend on going to him myself next year for my surgery. I trust my local friends more than anonymous people on the internet.

Both Reed and Ann made every attempt to HUMANLY possible to answer any all questions/situations. still just fine. Dear Kim H- orchiectomy is a very simple procedure.My grandpa in Wisconsin is doing it to the pigs every day in his farm by himself , believe me without any complications,so if you are not med.professional and dont know what exactly is involved in that procedure dont be so hurry to say the doctor is very good because he did an orchi with no issues.Let wait to see how he will do the skin pocket (so called neovagina),because what he is giving to you is noting else but piece of skin formed like a pocket and you are so stupid to think that this is a vagina.I dont know how much he charged you for the orchi but my grandpa could do it for you for free.
