This Person said that "All transgender persons have to go through ‘Assertiveness training, Communication training, Anger management and/or Passive aggressive abatement training’ and ‘Transgressional progression to grow into an appropriate social model for a woman of ones age’. Being a retired Senior NCO, Federal Law Officer, Military Instructor, and Adult Vocational Trainer I had professional training and practical experience in the first part of what he required. But this is not good enough for him because He knows best (I think he wants the money for his “Training”). I am a middle aged women, dress and act my age. I received social training for both Ladies and Gentlemen from my parents, church, NCO academy, and lady friends at work and church. Again this was not good enough for him. When I talked to him about what I needed from him for following the Standards of Care version 5 of the Harry Benjamin International Dysphoria Association he said that what he did was better. When I told him that he was not listening to me and not helping me he told me that I did not know what I needed but that he did. I departed and found a counselor who did listen and assisted me where I did need help. During this time I received calls from Kimberly L. Westwood, CPE, CCE who acted to schedule for Dr. Bushong and said “Don’t you realy want to transition? If so you have to return to her and Dr Bushong. If not then you’re really not a Transgender!” Talk about trying to twist someone’s pain and make them feel desperate just to get them back to paying them. That is despicable! Dr Bushong then started a vendetta and smear campaign against my care giver team. I am now a fully happy completed transsexual no longer identical twin living with her completed transsexual partner.

I suspected something was up when I went to the www.transgendercare.com website and could not find an address anywhere. He claims on his website that patients come from as close as Tampa..... so where is his shop located? Then I saw on another site that he charges $135 per hour. Sorry, but I'm not paying any shrink that kind of money.

Is Bushong a scam? Have been looking for his office in Tampa can't find anything....do I contact the AG and ask how Bushong can get away with this?

Joyce, I'm a current client of Dr. Bushong He closed his clinic in Tampa several years ago and his license has retired. However, he continuies to serve his current clientele that are in transition and is taking on a limited number of new clients. Everything is done via the internet and appointments are over the phone. For the average person, $135 out of pocket seems like a lot, but it's the going rate that most theripst are charging these days. You don't the benefit of submitting the claims to your insurance company
