Can a Boy Wear a Skirt to School?

BY now, most high school dress codes have just about done away with the guesswork.

Girls: no midriff-baring blouses, stiletto heels, miniskirts.

Boys: no sagging pants, muscle shirts.

But do the math.

“Rules” + “teenager” = “challenges.”

If the skirt is an acceptable length, can a boy wear it?

Can a girl attend her prom in a tuxedo?

Students: Tell us your views on whether schools should make rules about “gender bending” dress. Do you think your generation is more open-minded about this issue? If so, why? In general, do you agree that how you dress is “code” for who you are?

NO!

Boys should NOT wear a skirt to school!

We must preserve societal rules established over the millennium.

We cannot create new rules just because some boy wants to wear a skirt!

No! we should not allow boys to wear dresses or skirts, because it will lead to men wanting to wear skirts.

And it leads to the emasculating of men.  And making them into sissies.
