Made some changes to the FAQ, what do you think?
« on: July 05, 2007, 03:46:57 pm »
Called the new FAQ 2.0 since I finally I think divided the 2 sections that have bothered me for several months.
http://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,9148.0.html

I finally think I figured out behavior and social section. I ve been thinking about them sections on and off for several months. I finally really looked at all the posts in those sections for a few hours constantly and came up with some subsections I think works. Tell me what you think.

Next Goal:
Next I want to tackle the Discovery section in some way. maybe will put names and dates, seperate inactive members, maybe put it in order of date of posts. If I missed your intro section or important discovery section PM me (mainly i miss ones in introduction section elsewhere on the boards). Or feel free to add on or update your discovery posts.

I may also make a Androgyne: Gender Identity section if I can find enough posts to proceed the subcategory that talks about general androgyne internal gender identity.

Think I will celebrate a bit tonight for finally coming up with a solution. Feels good.

Kendra,

That's fantastic! It's wonderful to have everything organized so well by topic, I just reread a few old threads, and could easily spend days going through everything. We should all chip in and take you out for a drink  :)

Lol, tempted to take on that offer.

I know discovery section is the messiest, but that will change. Just printing out this index took 7 pages.

I cant imagine how many pages everything if printed out would take up. When I did the first version of the faq, there was just a few subcats and even then that was good. Now I have to get much more specific in order to keep sections smaller, and easier to read, easier to find answers. And as we create more I further break it down.

Thanks zythyra.

Thanks for all the effort you made Ken/Kendra. That FAQ really helped me when I first came here, and it still does whenever a sudden question pops up in my head. You did, and are doing a great job and it's very much appreciated :)

Thanks.

Is this your equivalent to discovery post http://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,14712.0.html? I can add that as well.

Heh I think that one falls under the category 'Shakey Introductions'.
However, I am currently working on a journal entry with the purpose to explain my androgyny (my discovery) without using terminology. If you believe it will be useful I wouldn't mind sharing it.

Absolutely Fantastic!!

Thank you so much for all the work you do and how much you add to this board.  I agree with Zythyra...you deserve several drinks.  One of these days, I'm going to make a special trip to your part of the world just for that reason.

Great job and thanks again.

Hi no-id

I'd really like to see this. I've sometimes tried to write using no gender pronouns, etc., it's a challenge.

Hey zythyra,

Then I will post it (most likely as a reply to this thread) once finished. Unfortunately I'm encountering some delays since my wisdom tooth was removed only a few hours ago, and thus I'm floating somewhere in between a painkiller haze and pain.  :-\ Nevertheless, I'll be sure to remember :) Thanks for your interest  8)

Just start a new topic in the androgyne section to post it, or I can move it after you reply.

Ouch! Been there, it isn't fun. Hope you're recuperating. I'll look forward to reading what you wrote whenever you have time.

Ok updated the Discovery section.

Decided on separating Active and Inactive members. The purpose I listed those in the first place is so that others can read and maybe relate to how you feel. So separating into inactive and active has a reason. I did this so that people can know who will more likely answer replies and pms.

ATTENTION THOSE NOT LISTED: hehe did i get your attention. Just was gonna say if you want a post that describes your feelings, experiences, reasons you are an androgyne, or anything along those lines that others can read and maybe relate to or find similar.

SEND LINK IT BELLOW or send me a pm , whichever you prefer. There are many very active that may already have a post such as that, which I havent seen or linked. Just remind me. These boards are large and hard to navigate.

Also UPDATE your POSTS if you feel anything has changed, or need to reply to your old posts to state newer info. You can also make another post that I can add here. Several people have 2 posts listed.

Thank you.

Ken

Updated posts into the FAQ.

Only structure change was breaking up posts in the Gender Identity section by adding Gender Identity- Self-Knowledge, Acceptance, Influences of Androgyny, Obstacles, and Gender Dysphoria.

No plans to change any more structure at the moment.

Though I am considering deleting listings of the posts in the discovery section that are inactive. The posts would still be there, but not listed on the faq. What do you think?

We think that if it will save space, it might be a good idea. Though if length of the FAQ is not an issue, its possible something could still be learned from those posts from our members. At the least moving it to the bottom would give more prority to some of the other topics.

But eh what do we know?
