I read the article from the website below. It will show whose REALLY helping those who were affected by Gustav. It was the same when Katrina hit.

      Yep...faith based ministry. That's what gets things done in America.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency under President Clinton was a much more robust agency.  President GW Bush's administration starved it to a pale wraith of its former self. 

Anything would work better than today's FEMA under Bush.  Of course, Faith-Based charity is 'so effective' -- the bar has been lowered by FEMA's departure from the playing field, and the record books are being rewritten to make it appear that it was always thus so.

It's like the Olympics of Los Angeles, 1984 -- the one where the Soviet Union boycotted in retaliation for us boycotting the previous one.  Absent the real serious competition the Soviet Union would have provided, the USA cleaned up on medals.

Church groups and grassroots organizations are still there helping. In the next year I will go down there myself.
