Dr. Preecha in Bangkok, Thailand.
« on: June 17, 2005, 12:29:21 am »
It will be many many moons before I have such worries of choosing my SRS surgeon by I may as well start looking now and as it happens I plan on FFS in considerably fewer moon’s passing.

So given that PAI has caught my eye (something to do with “No doctor's fee if any correction are required.” -- That says a lot to me.), anyway and I like their website.

I’d like to know more, obviously. Might anyone have any stories (for, against, and all that) to share regarding this particular place and doctor ?

Much appreciated (=

Ditto.

What a conincidence, I was looking at the same site this morning as well.  It does look like a great place, and fees are very reasonable too.  Maybe a case of "too good to be true", but I'll watch this thread as well.  If you don't mind of course  :)

I had my surgery done by Dr. Preecha. As far as a bedside manner, he doesn't talk very much and after the surgery I have had little communication with him. I find him very short and sweet. I'm not talking physical. I felt, as surgeries go, he did a really good job. His staff was excellent and I couldn't ask for anything less. He was great and the staff was great. I was in Bangkok with my wife and we had a great time. Everyone was very nice to us. I have had no problems with my surgery and my gynecologist thinks he did a very good job. She thought it look natural.

PS He does do FFS there too.

Just a heads up.  Save your money.

By all means, go to PAI, since their staff is incredible, but.....

Schedule with Dr Saran.  He has been working with Preecha for over 10 years, has done over a thousand GCS's himself with no history of problems, and it will cost you much less than if you schedule directly thru PAI.  He also does all types of cosmetic procedures, such as FFS and breast augmentation.

Your surgery thru Dr Saran will be at PAI  (Piyuvate) hospital, and you will be well taken care of by their medical staff.  Dr Saran helped found Dr Preecha's clinic, and is still on his staff.  He has his own office and assistant named Ying.  He is an altruist, and does the same surgery for less money to help those in need.

You can contact his office thru the Wiki pages here.

It is your money, choose wisely.

I would concur about Dr. Saran. He is an extremely gifted surgeon, a compassionate individual, and can even be funny at times, a rarity for a surgeon.

As stated his fees are slighly lower than his mentor Dr. Preecha, who is also a venerable surgeon, and very nice person.

Either way you can't go wrong, but if funding is an issue then perhaps consider Dr. Saran

I was thinking of Suporn. He can do it all in one operation, and its all anatomically correct as far as looks and positioning of everything. I think he charges more, but I feel he is one of the most experienced SRS surgeons in Thailand.

From what I have heard that Dr. Preecha doesn't do anymore surgeries and that he accompanies other surgeons while they are doing theirs. I had mine done by him and he was very good. He is getting older now and he does a lot of teaching. I think that he taught most of the doctors in Thailand. He was taught in San Francisco and has done a lot of free work in China. The hospital is first class all the way. I was never without anything while I stayed there. I could have stayed my full two weeks if I wanted to. We got a motel after he released me (5days) from the hospital. I always had at least 3 nurses there about 4 times a day and had a buzzer if I needed anything. The price was mid range with the Thai Doctors. I know of two others who went to Suporn and he is great too. I think he was a little farther south and on the coast. Dr. Preecha is in Bangkok and it was about a half hour drive from the airport. Our motel was right down the street, within walking distance. It was probably about 100 yards away. It was nice to walk to and there were lots of shopping malls all within walking distance. We went off and saw some culture too and lots of sights. It was an amazing trip.

That's right, Dr. Preecha has not been performing the SRS himself for a long time.
These days, the assistant surgeon he works with is Dr. Burin Wang.
He seems a bit more informative than Dr. Preecha if you ask him questions.
They work from the new PAI clinic at Bangkok Mediplex these days.
And they use Pivayet Hospital.
