Definitely cool photo, Dan. And hot. 8) Very nice.

And yeah, it's hard convincing people of X when they're already pretty much convinced of Y. Good luck, though, mate. Daniel Jeffrey's a nice name, from your photo that does seem like a "you" name, though Daniel James also sounds nice.

And Hot Rod... I don't know, there have been worse names. Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii, Number 16 Bus Shelter...

Quote
I thought of asking my mom what I would have been named if I were a boy at birth...
I would have been a David, I think. And while I have nothing against the name, I just can't see me living as a David. It and I just don't connect...

But yes, as Phate said, have you had any ideas you'd like to share, Scotty? Are you looking for specific meanings, sounds, emotional importance....? :eusa_think:

This is how the small list is going so far:

Riley

Cody

Tyler

Reagan

Ander

Ian

Todd

Terry

I've tried Reagan on and off as well as Terry, but around midnight last night I came across Todd and I liked the sound of it, so I called my friend up, (who has willingly put up with me and my needs and called me every name I ask her to call me), and I told her to call me Todd a couple of times so I could hear how it sounded coming from someone other than me.

I liked it, so I'm gonna run with that one for a little bit to see if I can break it in within a month or so.  I've got a couple of my friends calling me it when they remember, but I like it so far.  If it doesn't work out I've got a couple of others to fall back on.  But that's mainly the few that I like and feel comfortable with.

I'm thinking you're right Phate, it is a bit of grain they usually chew on.

Ian or Todd.

You reeeally look like an Ian to me >_> But, whatever feels better to you, but the two I specified seem to look like you. I dunno it's weird, but I always say somebody looks like a -insert name-, and if they don't look like their name then I'd have a harder time calling them by their name.

Hey Dan
Is it just me or the first thing I think of when I see your mug and the name "Ian" is the radio host Ian Punnett?

I'm loving all the Dan Aykroyd in this thread.

Lutin, I have my grandma's name for a middle name as well.  Unfortunatly I am very close to her and I don't want to chuck it out the window, but Faye isn't something most men have for middle names, so I'm in a bit of turmoil about what I am going to do with that.

I dunno, man. There's a southern guy or two with that as a middle (even first, strangely enough!) name.

But then again... faye rhymes with an orientation, and kids are frelling merciless...

I actually changed my legal name a few years back to something more asexual (deny, deny, deny...). Now all I have to do is drop one letter and nobody has to learn a new name, but it's more male lolol

I just thought of something, now I know why you look like a Todd to me. My mom watches those daytime soap operas and there's a guy on one of them and his character is named Todd Manning. You look kinda like him.

It's gotta be the hair, since he's much larger than me. :icon_eek:

My mom saw this picture, and said, "What, is that a picture of you and John Belushi?" (she thought I was Photoshopped in)

I spazzed. But I realized, it's a blurry picture, and from far away with the hat, I do sort of resemble a blurry picture of a young Dan Aykroyd. I said, "I wish," since the guy, like I said, pretty much had my dream body. Then I told her I'd never wear sweat pants like that. Yuck. But hey, this looks like one of the few pictures ever with his foot exposed; he's got webbed toes. I think either he's wearing a sock or a great deal of light is reflecting off of his foot. Bah, I got a little off topic there...

Throughout my life, there have been a few names that keep popping into my head.  I've always like "Timeon" for some reason, which I got from a very obscure geek reference.

And I've always said if I had kids (and I really *don't* want kids) I'd name them "Random" and "Chance".  :)

I've been debating changing my name, lightly thinking about it.  I've always been "Paul".  I've talked of changing my name officially to just "Paul" (ie. no middle or last, kinda like "Cher" or "Meatloaf".  :)  Paul is so definitely male, though, I've been debating trying to come up with a non-descript andro name.  Maybe I'll take "Chance" for myself after all.  :)

Would Paulie make the name Paul more andro?  I've only known a couple of guys with that name, but I can see it going both ways.

Nice new cut Todd (if that's ok I call you it :D)

And yeah, I think Paulie is pretty androgynous, and it's actually a very nice name, rolls off the tongue quite well. :)

I wouldn't say so, but I'm from New Jersey, land of the mafia, where "Paulie" conjures up images of a hyper-masculine "family man", and I envision big gold chains, lots of chest hair, and a white suit.  :)

The more I've looked at you pic, the more I think "Sean", actually.  Although I could easily see you being "Chance" as well.  :)

;D Thank you very much Phate, and Todd is fine, lol.

Unfortunatly I have a brother-in-law, a cousin, and an Uncle with that name, so Sean is kind of off limits just to avoid confusion, lol.

We'll see how well Todd is working out, so far its going pretty good though, but its only been like what 4 days?
