We peruse the forums viewing topic after topic and wondering why we never post any responses or opinions to any of these topics.
Is it because we don't have an opinion? Or do we each have opposing opinions and wouldn't know which one to state?
More likely, we just don't feel like our opinions would help advance the topic any further. We're kind of in a very unique situation being Two-Spirited and in that sense maybe we don't really belong posting here at all except as support. This question has creeped into our head numerous times. People can't relate well with us and as a result may be tempted to outright dismiss what we have to say.
So what function can we really serve? Is our being here causing more harm and confusion then clarity or assistance?
When we first arrived here, we found a home in the Androgyne section because collectively, the two of us express ourselves where we would appear Androgynous. Individually though, we're pretty binary. Though some of our concerns for expression matched, it was only because of the special circumstances.
Continuing, Marq is a gender consistant with our shared physical body and as such doesn't really belong on a TG forum. Mia on the other hand is of a gender opposite our physical body in an that sense could be considered TS. Though as far as that goes, she isn't really accepted by the rest of the TS community mainly because of her association with Marq and all the complexity involved therein.
People like to have simple models, labels, boxes etc to describe themselves and others, so when the complexity of others' circumstances throws a wrench into that, people may tend to attempt to ostracize the things that don't fit neatly. That's what happens to us more often then not. The result usually is people ignore one of us, the one that they're least interested in interacting with, and carrying on as normal with the other.
We have opinions, strong ones even. But maybe the right topics for the opinions aren't being discussed. Maybe that needs to change.
