Title: Hairline reduction revision
Post by: Chiara on June 19, 2013, 11:48:27 AM
So here's the thing:
I had a hairline reduction with Dr. Bart van de Ven this January. (amongst a few other procedures, i had a thread about it here)
The problem is that i feel kind of uncomfortable with my new hairline, not primarily because of the aesthetics, but just the general feeling of it.
I already didn't have a high hairline or a big forehead pre-surgery, but now i have quite the tiny forehead. If i put my hand horizontally on my forehead, it doesn't even cover it completely.
Also i already had new hair grow out of my new hairline, but the scar is still there, and will always be there, and even though it´s not really visible anymore, it´s just a bad feeling to touch that line where the surgeon sliced my skin open and stitched it together again after bringing down my previous hairline. Also i often have an itching feeling in that area, and i just feel bad when i'm touching it. I don't know if i'll ever get used to that stitched up line on my forehead, but that's not reversible. My question is if it's possible to bring up the hairline again.
Did any of you have a raise of the hairline after having it reduced first? Is that even possible?

It takes time for the nerves in the incision area to come back to life.  Months in some cases.

There are ways, however, to surgically minimize scars.  I have a huge scar on my left arm, from elbow to wrist, and "railroad tracks" down my sternum from open heart surgery.  I have been thinking about getting them reduced.

I don't understand? Why having such an invasive procedure when it wasn't nessecary in the first place?

Let your nerves reattach and heal and don't temper with your hairline/scalp a second time.

Yes, surgically raising your hairline is possible but an invasive procedure....yet again.

Try electrolysis and google Rita Hayworth, the famous 40's moviestar.
She had electrolysis to create a desirable higher hairline, to make her look better on screen.
