I wear a bikini most of the time unless I feel in the mood for a full bodysuit.
Then I have a nice sporty one or two (doesn't every girl have a closet full of swimwear?) that I wear on that occasion.
I have a few favorite bikini's one in particular that is my current fav.
So what do you guy's wear when you go to the beach or the pool or whatever, hotsprings what have you?
-Sara
Right now I wear a triangle bikini top and shorts when I go swimming, which is really rare. Being pre-op, I'm not too comfortable with wearing an actual bikini bottom, though I hope to one day.
You wear stuff to go swimming? Wow. I sure live in a different state.

Hey, we have lots of 'clothing optional' beaches here. And even if its not, its doesn't matter much.

Honey, if you are going ocean swimming out there (you noticed dintcha, Jen said 'swimming') then you'd better be wearing a wetsuit, insulated!! The absolute coldest swim I ever had was the minute or so at Asilomar in August. I was simply frozen and just knew I couldn't make it any longer!!
That Current down from Alaska is c-o-l-d!!

As I said I don't go swimming that often Nicole, but I'm still pretty self conscious about my body, hence I'm picky about the swimwear I have.
I went swimming in the ocean off Cape Cod one summer when I was little, I didn't last 10 minutes it was freezing! Teeth chattering and everything, lol!
I wear a bikini most of the time, but on occasion I'll wear a body suit. Just yeterday I got all of my bathing suits out and tired them on for the first time this year & unitl I lose about 5 lbs. I'll be wearing a body suit. :embarrassed:

I don't have one and...er....I can't swim :o

I do wish to wear one-piece swimsuit, but I can't (you know why).
About 2 years ago, I once wore a bikini bra with athletic pants in a beach with my family.

Mmmm... well never been really comfortable in swim suits, but usually wear a regular womens swimsuit covered in mens spandex shirt, and shorts or swimtrunks. Though I forget my swim cloths sometimes on trips and end up with just the spandex shirt and shorts over underwear (most trips I have them because most trips is to a convention in a hotel will pool and hottub and the spandex is good to wear under hot costume)
I'm old, I wear a one piece.
Sarah L.
I love swimming, when I was still living in Midland I use to spend every day I could for the entire day on anyone of the beaches on the Georgian Bay part of Lake Huron. I just wear a one piece bathing suit. I haven't gone yet this summer here in Vancouver Too darn cool for my liking. Sure have been exploring the woods in the mountains though and the many parks wearing one piece bathing suit and skirt.
Cindy
t shirt and shorts.
Halter top and board shorts. -shrugs- I don't have much of a problem looking like a girl when swimming; something about too much water makes me seesaw back to the feeling cisgender side.
Since I hate my body and lack of curves, I don't go swimming and don't know if I will. I have a hard time believing I'd actually ever feel comfortable wearing a bathing suit. I do miss the ocean and bodyboarding sometimes though.
Hi Meghan hon, don't worry to much, it will take several months before you really begin seeing some changes, small changes at first. But once HRT takes over you will practically see changes happening almost daily when you look in the mirror. I have been on HRT for the past 8 years and I still find places where there is fat forming where there was none before and it's not regular fat, my weight remains the same. Also take into consideration the younger you are the faster the changes will take place.
Cindy
When I go to SaMo and Venice, a lot of the time I'll end up in the ocean in whatever clothes I came in that day. I've ruined a pair of boots and lost lots of jewelry this way. Now I don't wear any jewelry to go to the beach.
If I'm going with the intention of swimming, I'll wear, usually, a girl's bikini bottom under trunks/shorts and a sports bra or (if I don't have anything else) a bikini top. I'd be more likely to wear a shirt in the ocean as well, but in a pool I wear as little as possible.
Next time I go to the beach I'll probably bind (haven't been since I got my binders--damn, it's been a long time) and wear trunks.
At the present time I do not own a suit, but I would perfer a one piece with a skirt.
Now if the Goddess will bless me with a girlish figure and a C-cup, then definitely a bikini. ;D
Boardshorts.
Just saw a compression swim suit on Underworks!
hurley board shorts and a bikini top.

Bikini bikini bikini, i tuck very well and the secret doesnt come out, boys just think i have have a fat vajayjay lol ive been told. i own about 21 bikinis
Whale costume.
I own a womans one piece bathing suit that is dark purple and exposed back around my shoulder blades. I think it's very comfortable but rarely get to use it.^_^
I am a triathlete so I wear a women's tri-suit when I go swimming. It is padded in the crotch for the biking portion, so it helps hide the undesirables since I am still pre-op. I hope that someday I will be able to wear a bikini, but that will have to be after SRS and only if I get a little more size up top. Unfortunately, I am a small "A" and my mom was also small, so I question whether I will ever have enough development in that area to be able to wear a bikini.
Probably both xD a bikini and a one piece for me of course with a skirt..

I have no doubt that would be cute a button on you...
Miss A would look good in anything is my guess.
Bikini. I actually have a pretty good body for them, ha. My main issue is that I'm extremely pail, so I burn like crazy when I go to the beach if I'm not careful.

Hey - something we agree upon....
I wear a bikini, when I go to the beach I can push myself inside to tuck and a piece of medical tape holds it inside quite well leaving me a very smooth front The only issue then is peeing, after doing my business I have to take a dip to wash it all out or pee in the ocean, now pool side or hot tub it all depends on the company if I tape or not then I become a light drinker LOL but never pee in the pool :)
last time i went, i wore a binder with a shirt over. it was sooo hard to breathe in the water.
last girl suit... was uber cute! it had little strngs on the side and a cute top with stripes.... too ad i dont have the body to pull it off well. i was good enough to not be gross or anything, but not like a hawty. lawl.
ANYWAYS.... bikinis FTW. not on me ofcourse.... a speedo wouldnt be out of the question. if i had the top for it.
Skirtini two piece ;)

Omg. Please don't buy that garbage. I already bought it, and returned it. It compressed my stomach, not my chest, it wasn't worth it.
I haven't bought a new swim suit since transition/nor have I gone swimming. I'm sure it will come up eventually but until I get my boardshorts and maybe a crew cut shirt to cover my binder, I will simply be going in a univ shirt and basketball shorts.
I own a piece of Victoria Secret 1 piece swimsuit which is blue in color. Its bare back behind. I prefer to have darker color for swimsuit as it could assist the hiding and show smooth front whenever i tucked it.
When I was in Oahu there was a place on the North Shore in Haleiwa called North Shore Swimwear. They make custom made swimwear. I called and asked if they would fit me, they said come in at closing time. They were very nice. I wound up with a black bikini with a push up top. I still wear it.
I'm in the Virgin Islands now and go to the beach a lot. I 've got some board shorts and a triangle bikini top. I love tan lines they relly help to add a feminine touch. I want to try one of those tankini suits.
shorts and a T shirt.
Swimmer's suit. Girl's one piece and I wear shorts and a t-shirt over top.
I have 4 or 5 suits, but my favorite is a very tiny bikini. But when I am out with alot of people I wear a two piece, with a skirt on the bottom
I like to wear two piece swim suit only mostly Green Envy Bikini. I usually buy my swimsuits from an online company

Stupid of me not to realize this before but that's a great option for pre-op. I had been wondering what I would do about swimming pre-op.
Iv about 5 bikini and 2 1piece bathing suit, but my favorite is a pink bikini with a miniskirt with white frill hemline, my BF thinks it suit my butt lol I like it cos its pink and girly, my favorite color.
p
Boardshorts and bikini top! Hell this is New Zealand and its pretty much the surfer culture at the beach......
Boardshorts and wetsuit top.
I have Scandinavian skin and I burn really easily.
I know this an old thread but it fits :)
I HAVE BIKINI TAN LINES!!!!!!!
Cause I wore a cute OP bikini to the beach ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!
I'm just saying ;)
An ordinary one-piece suit.

I actually like that! ^_^
I like it too, pity I don't have any hips yet though.
It'll be interesting to see what another 6 months of HRT accomplish, in time for our summer.
I'd love to try a bikini one day, but I definitely don't have the body yet.
Seeing as I am moving to Tasmania, it will probably have to be a "Dry Suit" over thermals anyway!!
Karen.
Bikini bottoms hide really well, but I'm still small in the top for that.
I like one piece suits best so thats what I wear most often. My friends know I am transgender anyway.
I would like to see a picture of the suits with skirts some of you speak about. Sounds like a neat alternative.
Last weekend :)

Ok. Here's my swimsuit. With me in it. at about 2-3 months on hrt. It is a 2-piece. WARNING: Notice the Dragon Tattoo on the left arm. This should not figure into the discussion on this thread as it is not part of my bathing suit. Should any wish to comment about it's possible negative impact on me passing, they should look down to my lower left leg and not that I am no stranger to pain. I will never be a victoria secrets model, so I see no need for any comments about said tattoo.

You look amazing!!!
skirted bikini,boardshorts and a top
Okay, I got myself a skirted one-piece suit before I went on holiday just to find that the camp had only communal showers without curtains!
How embarrassing, but at least I had done what I could. Thankfully everyone continued to accept me as a woman and they learned alot about transgender identity.
We live near the beach so this was something I had to come to terms with pretty quickly. I'm a 50 year old flatchested beanppole; it's topless with board shorts in guy mode. But Sisterself is a bit more modest. Last year I wore a cute Jantzen one-piece that looked like a tankini- only had to wear that once to see how big a pain they are to take off to use the restroom once they're wet :( I vowed to go two-piece this year. I'm only a 36A, got a cute Victoria Secret pushup halter bikini top and wore it with short shorts in the beginning of the season; short shorts are great if you are going to be more active. A bikini was a short leap from there so I picked up a cute matching bottom. Big improvement over a one-piece. I basically wore bikinis the rest of the summer. I'm still a fan of tankinis for early in the season when I'm getting my base tan so I don't get any embarrassing lines for when I go topless presenting as a guy. LOL, I ended up cutting the suit I wore last year apart to make it into a real tankini!
I am bigender so I am pretty used to tucking; I don't fiddle with tape and just wear a Spanx "Slim Cognito" low rise panty whenever I present as female to hold things in place. A modest coverage bikini bottom hides the Spanx just fine if you roll down the waist. If it does happen to peak around the edges, it just looks like a beige liner.

Great that you have found something that works for you, even can wear a bikini while tucking. My chest/nipples are too large to ever pass as a guy in trunks. Each has to do what works best for them.

Now that I think about it, I haven't been to a beach/pool in years. :( But I remember about 4 summers ago I went to the beach with a few other TS friends and I wore a two-piece bathing suit. The top was like a bra and then it went down mid-waist. And the bottom piece was like a skirt with built-in "panty". Anyways, I don't know how I pulled that off but I did. I wouldn't wear it today. I think because I've gained a few pounds. :P
I try to avoid swimming but when I do swim I wear swim trunks with a t-shirt.
It might seem daggy but I like sporty swimsuits .

I look pretty friggin cute in them, not gonna lie.

(blushing) You're sweet, Donnabobhair, thank you very much. I know I am invisible in the sea of teenage beauties, but what matters most is, guy or girl, people accept me the way I present myself.
I use a swim dress:

I wear a wig and I'm wondering how to keep one on in the water, or is it just best if I don't actually swim?
When I had my Srs surgery I remember one of my bucket list items I have wanted to do all my life was to wear a 2 piece bikini at the beach and I did and went in the water with a few girlfriends who came with me. I ended up at misquamicut beach in rhode island and it was a fun day. Fast forward a few years and I bought a boat and went more for lake swimming. These days I am more comfy with a 1 piece only because it's easy on and easy off. Once in a while I wear a 2 piece if I am looking to give my belly some color especially with looser summer fashions.
