I've been thinking about getting a new binder, but I was just wondering if you guys could give any input. I've been wearing the 988 binder from underworks and, while I do like it, I have some issues with it, mainly that the seams show through my shirts and It's not super comfortable (not that it's tight, it's just generally uncomfortable). So I've looked into other binders, and les love boats seem to be the best suited to my needs. I also don't want any zippers, buckles oro velcro, just a pull over binder, because I don't want my binder to be seen under my shirt (and yes i know I'm being overly paranoid and yes I know guy wear undershirts, but It just really bothers me).
Anyways my main question is about sizing, I measure at an A cup and although I don't really need to bind, the main problems are my nipples are very pointy/hard I guess, not sure how to describe them (seriously it's a little weird) and the tissue kind of... jiggles in the area and it makes me pretty uncomfortable, so really I'm not binding I'm just constricting, but I digress.
I'm 31' in the chest and for underworks that measures out to an extra small (28-31), but I got a small (32-35) for comfort, for les love boat I measure out to be a small (28-32), but I'm wondering if I should go up a size (medium: 32-34) for comfort like I did with underworks.
Also does anyone have experience with les love boat? Could you please tell my what you think of their binders?
FYI: I'm leaning towards the "AIR M Pullover Long Chest Binder-Gray" and/or the shorter version (I have love handles and my jock strap for packing is a little small so the fat bubbles up over my pants and the longer binders would allow me to reduce that, but I'm starting biking so maybe if I really stick with it those will go down).
I'm in the same position right now, unhappy with my Underworks and looking into LLB. I ordered the Jersey Mesh binder last week so I should be getting it soon. I'll let you know how it fits when I get it. I'm the same-ish size as you. I wore an XS for underworks and I'm an S on the LLB size chart as well. I always hear people say the Love Boat binders feel much more comfortable and breathable than underworks, so I doubt you would have to go up in size.
I ordered one of the jersey mesh ones with the velco in a small and I should have just ordered medium because the sucker won't fit at all. You have to be a really small dude to fit into it.
So if anyone is really small and wants to buy it off me - let me know! Also, if someone has one that's too big for them, let me know maybe we can trade.
Hah, I'm in the exact same position with the too-small jersey mesh binder. I got the small because my chest is about 32in and it said it ran big...would've been okay if not for my ribcage which is about 31. Medium was much better.
I'd pay attention to not just your chest size but your measurements below it, too, especially for a short binder.
i am having the same plm too i email the love boat asking for tips and i told them my size and they said i should go for small for a binging effect or M for comfort so not much help either.
i might be interested in getting the binder off u to see if it fits?
did the Medium size bind any good?
Hey, thought I would give my input on the les love boat binders. When I first got one I loved it, but after a while of wearing it I realized that it wasnt as good (IMO) then underworks. The way it binds is completely different but it feels really claustrophobic and restricting to me. Its made of a solid cloth, rather then he stretchy underworks, and while at first it seems easier to breathe, later it feels really claustrophobic, its hard for me to explain. Its like, yes you can take a deeper breath, but there is no stretch so it feels more constricting.

Well, chalk that up for three people with too-small binders. Got mine in the mail and I feel like a medium might actually be better. Like AugustFalcon, I thought a small would suffice because the site says that model runs big... but as I was putting it on I thought "Man, I'd hate to know what their regular smalls are like." And I am a very small guy. I'll bother with it more tomorrow, who knows, maybe I'll find a way to make it comfortable. If not, I believe they let you exchange for a different size, so I'll do that.

The Medium one I got the one that's stretchy and it doesn't make me 100% flat that's for sure, but it is more comfortable and I'm more concerned about the comfort level.
Also, forgot to mention I could take actual measurements of the one that I got that I can't fit into ... that might help.

Without it, I was barely able to stick the velcro together because it was too small. It does bind very well though I'll give it that.

See above comment^^ I was able to modify two of mine with extra velcro.
I wouldn't trust myself to modify a binder (no good with sewing), and I've decided I don't dig velcro, so I'm just gonna try to sell mine. Anyway, with the cold weather coming up I have no urgent need to bind; layering up takes care of that easily. I'll worry about getting a new binder next year.
