Title: SRS Results Pictures
Post by: leflauren678 on April 29, 2012, 06:51:30 PM
From what I understand all SRS Results are posted in a section that is only accessible to Post-Ops. This seems to defeat the purpose of sharing pictures, so that pre-ops and non-ops can make informed decisions.

Would anyone else like to see those pictures move to an area where pre-op, non-op and others can access them?

Thanks,

Lef

There aren't any pictures in that forum. Actually it hasn't had a post in it for nearly 2 months.

Pictures of people's vaginas are against the rules for the site as far as I know.

There was someone who posted some pics back in March. The pics were removed. Sorry.

Having the pictures in that area or at least the private section is to keep rather private things private and so that susan's doesn't become a site for crotch shots.

The surgeons are getting better at posting previous works on their sites, but in general there's a certain amount of variation in surgical results (based on your anatomy, the surgeon and their tech, and what side of the bed s/he woke up on) that may or may not be depicted in somebody elses genitals (re: the thread about suporn).

Surgeons will only post their best results on their own site, so what they post is unreliable.

yeah, hence the mentioning of random variables since there's always going to be great and awful examples of any surgeons handiwork and those surgeons promoting themselves or people promoting a certain surgeon will (usually) use the good examples only as "proof".

That's exactly why I was hoping to find more on here. Its seems like many surgeons haven't updated their websites in years. And with Anne Lawrence no longer updating her site, the only site I could find is Transbucket, but that is mostly FTM.

They could be in the Just for Us section, or in an area that Pre-Op/Non-Ops could have access to.

Looking for the outcome and pictures. If you ask a gynaecologist he will tell you that every vagina looks different. It is the same with the SRS results. You can not make your own judgment based on pictures and i don't think a doctor cam promise you a result. You must make up your mind what are you looking for. When I was looking for my doctor the first thing I was after was being orgasmic. Second thing was having a decent depth and the last thing I was looking for was cosmetics. I will explain you why. The cosmetic outcome can always be mended with a corrective surgery. The depth can be corrected but it demands subsequent complex surgeries. The sensations can not be regained in case you have lost them during the surgery. I think that I am happy with the surgery from every aspect but undergoing SRS is a huge risk you take. No doctor can guarantee you a certain result or guarantee you that you will not have complications. There are better doctors who have fewer complications then others but they all have them. What are your expectations from the SRS?

I am more interested in what the experience post-op was regarding pain, complications, sensitivity retention etc.

The post op period is a very smooth thing. You have an epidural block when you wake up from the surgery and there is no pain. Once they remove the packing they remove the epidural as well. The dilation sucks and it is not painful but at first it is a very weird feeling. The first two weeks of recovery are very uncomfortable and you must restrict your movements in order to keep the flaps in place and to keep the suture lines intact. There is some pain that can be easily controlled with painkillers.
When it comes to complications they are possible and they DO happen. The worst thing that can happen is a rectal fistula. Flap necrosis is also possible especially in smokers and in diabetic patients. Suture dehiscence is also possible if you cause tension on the suture lines. Inadequate depth and cosmetically unpleasing result is also possible, as well as erectile tissue remaining that causes painful arousal.
The sensitivity is a matter of a good surgical technique and the Thai doctors seem to have mastered this technique.
I hope this answers your question
