What are your style preferences?
« on: March 11, 2012, 07:41:49 am »
Do you like vintage or Victorian style clothing? Are you more of the domestic housewife type dresser? Is the Goth or Punk look your style? Maybe a sexy, alluring hooker in a miniskirt is you. Are you the over the top with makeup and hair "Drag Queen" we all know and love. Or anything will do as long as you're the woman you feel you should be. Does your personality and moods affect your dressing desires?

56 and still love short skirts and sexy stockings. I still have great legs. My make up is not over the top but not boring.

It depends.  Sometimes if I am alone or with a friend I like to dress a little slutty.  If I'm going out in public I try to dress appropriately for a woman of my age.  I shoot for pretty and appealing but not to stand out.  I mean it's nice to get noticed with out being read.  I'm still working on my makeup skills.  I love red lipstick and nails.  Trouble is it doesn't seem like you see too many woman wearing red unless there getting all dressed up.  I'd like to find a good lip color for me in casual dress.

Genevieve,

Nice question. On special occasions I like to dress more formal in a colorful dress, sometimes strapless or noodle straps. Some a bit retro to my Mothers era of the 50's, very feminine which I love. Fortunately I have my teen figure, so I can shop in teen to mid twenties lady shops, I fit small or extra small and wear the casual fashions the young ladies wear today. My make up is much like my Mom, and dress to blend in. I love long wigs, gives you a sensuous feel on your back.

I am a casual, conservative dresser. I like skirts, camisoles. Blouses, blazers, pullovers, pumps, and jewely. I have taken aliking to maxi skirts and dresses.

I'm a bit different in that I'm not into makeup or bras.  Anything with out pronounced breast areas is fair game.  I love pantyhose, panties, skirts, tops, dresses, and lingerie.  I have a great school girl outfit but I like to do the secretary thing too.  I am even working on a librarian look too.  I'm working on finding outfits that look good on me and allow me to express my mood.

For me its about balance.  Being able to express my feminine side at times, but also be a guy at times too.  I don't see myself as having a woman with in, but rather a whole me inside that needs to be expressed.  After spending a day in male clothes I crave time in a skirt.  Spending a day in a skirt tends to make me feel centered but I also need a break too if I spend a couple days all feminine.  Balance is key for me, but I like to look and feel sexy.  My wife and I keep looking at costumes, so things keep evolving.
Finally found happiness in my own skin, too bad it took so long   :D

I have an over the top style, I get called eccentric even. I love period gowns, Victorian particularly, with a gothic twist to it, Gothic Lolita, frills, lace, corsets are almost a fetish for me, bloomers, tall boots. Goth and punk done with taste are also quite appealing. Then occasionally, I feel like looking like a prostitute, or even somewhat demure. As for makeup... it matches the outfit. I like flamboyant, colourful or very dark, creative makeup. I try not to exaggerate, as I like passing instead of looking like a drag queen. No offense intended, I adore drag queens.

I have dresses, skirts, tops, jeans and think that A-line skirts look the best on me to give the illusion of hips and having a female figure.  Dresses are harder to fit as my upper size is bigger than my bottom size.  If the material has a spandex blend, the dress wil fit better.  I usually prefer an Empire waist on the dresses.  Dresses really need to be tried on before buying as they look so different on the rack.

Nothing feels better than nylons or pantyhose on smooth legs and wearing heels or boots.

(Asks if she is allowed to post here...)

My style preferences differ a little...

If I'm just going to show off to friends, or at parties, or just at home, then I really like gothic/lolita style. The lolita works very well for my tiny body type and cute demeanor/personality...

For more everyday casual-wear, I prefer emo items, if I'm not trying to dress like a typical mature young woman. These styles are more fun than that anyway.

Not to say there's anything wrong with everyday wear, however.

So, yeah, that's more or less what I like, at a glance. I'd link more, but I'll clog the thread up ;)

I prefer teenager's and sporty ones. I study fashion trend of students at my university. I found that black stockings become popular this year. Last year leggings were a trend.  Killer heels are still popular, but it is not my preference, as I am already too tall.

Oh golly, for me it's almost completely situational

On any typical day, it's just jeans/t-shirt/decimated Converse/button-covered trench coat/maybe my chest binder. CASUAL WEAR FTW

If I wake up and have a feeling it's not a typical kinda day, you can see me in anything from baggy to form-fitting to punk-rocker to 90s to stereotypically "frumpy" to pajamas of varying patterns.

And then of course, there are those delightful few days (nights, rather) now and again where I get dolled up in my full Rocky Horror regalia, whether I'm actually going to the show or just Underwear Nite at the local roller rink :icon_woowoo:

I dunno, really. My fashion's as capricious as San Francisco's weather.

Yes. Indeed looks sexy. BTW, when taking photos focusing on legs, lowering your camera position would be better.

Well, I don't want to offend anyone here, since I completely respect your own choices. But I'm pretty much repulsed by the "Drag Queen" look or more extreme "feminine" looks. I rarely even wear a bra and consider makeup a less-than-desirable drudgery.

I just like looking good-- but in a feminine way. One think I've learned from years of informally studying fashion is that understatement is almost always better than overstatement. I'd much rather people look at me and say "Is that a man or a woman" than "look at that man dressed like a woman".

If you want to see my style preference, just browse Newport News.com or look a some street shots of Jennifer Aniston. Skinny jeans, neck scarves, sweaters, long slitted skirts, etc. Understated contemporary fashion with a healthy dose of feminine sexuality.

Yeah, I completely agree. I started wearing skinny jeans, and began dressing a little more androgynously. A lot of people say I'm a stylish guy, even my fraternity (which is a supermasculine institution). So I get to show my feminine side, as well as look respectable. It really boosts my confidence.
