Transgender people from around the region will converge on Geary Park in Ferndale for the annual Transgender Pride in the Park event, taking place from noon to 6 p.m. on Aug. 4.

People grill burgers and hot dogs and many bring a dish to pass. There is plenty of good food and opportunity to mingle, with Transgender Michigan co-founder Rachel Crandal likening the event to "a big family reunion."

Ahhh heck! My lady and I are heading up to MI, but we're not leaving until the morning of the 4th - and it's a 2 day drive.

Bummed.  :'(

Y'all have a blast!!
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.
