As much as conservatism still pushes against us and would deny us, there really is more of a chance for trans kids today than there ever was before. Hopefully, once the old generation have died off and people who have grown up with and become used to homosexual and transsexed people, these kinds of things will simply be consigned to the trash heap of history.

I'm actually really excited about the future in that regard. It's going to be interesting seeing the progression of acceptance as my generation (and younger) becomes the driving force for policies on social issues that today is still mainly ruled by the baby boomer and Gen-X generations.

She totally ignores the fact shes a moron...
She came onto a trans irc i was on demanding recognition and adoration because she was 'lucy parker' and her entorage that came with her were rather rude...
on the show she was a nasty moody cow, and she wonders why folk dislike her?

Conservatives are in LGBT community too. Many young transsexuals for example cannot find support because of lack of acceptance from ''late transitioners''. And that is a very serious issue. Transcommunity is it own enemy.

Aye, admitedly thats usually a big issue... If you are young, and pass, most of the community refuses to aknowlage you can have a problem... afterall, thats all they want!

I posted a comment on her UTUBE page. She is VERY brave for doing the TV show as i couldn't do it. For my familys sake and my own.

30+ years in entertainment (the home of the modern entourage) and I've yet to encounter anyone in any one of them who was anything more than rude.  I'm pretty much convinced that 'entourage' is a French word for 'pack of worthless assholes' - but like most things, it just sounds so much better in the original French (who knew a lot about such people as it turns out).

Of course they take that cue from the 'leader.'  Really, the best part of my job is getting to talk with someone, at least a few times a year, who will say "Don't you know who I am?"  Where in all the pleasant ignorance I can muster - which is a huge amount - I get all doe-eyed and say "No, should I?"  God, I love it.  They never have an answer to that one.



And she does not come across as being very bright, or even all there.  That eye rolling deal, is she looking up trying to find her brain or what.  Most people know the old adage that 'the camera adds 10 pounds' - and it does.  What people don't know is that the camera also subtracts 30 IQ points, so people seem a lot dumber on camera then they are in person.  I sure hope so or she's walking around with an MP3 player that repeats "left foot, right foot" just so she can walk around.

And its not the 'late transitioners' that are causing young TS not to get support.  For the most part, they are all but absent from the community, because they don't like the community, if they even think there is a community - which most of them do not.

That is quit not true.
Many late transitioners for example think that Zucker methods are right. Many later transitioners think that TYFA is an amoral organization. We have got no help to education issues from transcommunity that keeps busy to lobbing non-discrmination laws against transvestites and late-transitioners.

going down is half right... theres a massive thing agianst young transitioners... obvious or not. There is a sense of 'they have tons of time, they mostly get cisgender privilage of passing... thier life is wonderful! why should we help them? they should help us!
I dont agree that its all, and tbh, for young transitioners, there isnt really a transgender community, just community with some t elements.... Most support groups freak young people out... i tried two.. both i got letched at, talked down to, and were full of CDs and tvs, and the only TS women were nutty and acted like the cds....  Lucy has a point, but lucy is still a fething moron either way

I find it hard to believe anyone accepts Zucker, his pseudo science has been disproved many times.

I used to think we would see huge change when the babyboomers passed on. Now I have my doubts.  Like you said, gen x, my generation, is also filled with problem people.  And it seems more and more as they age.  And I've encountered a lot of rabid dogs among the younger generation already.  I think you'll find that such people emerge and manifest their tendencies as they get older.  Then the next generation will start seeing you and yours as the problem.

Ditto. I think the only generational issue at work is lack of understanding between the old and new guards.
It is written that all generations spurn the prior generation though. Eventually they too come to realize that the faces change but the song stays very similar.
