Suicide Resources--Phone, Websites, Text, Chat
« on: December 21, 2011, 07:55:01 pm »
If you are feeling suicidal and need help, please remember that the members at Susan's are not trained for such an emergency. A suicide hotline can save your life.

The information below is accurate to the best of my knowledge; do notify me if you find a mistake. These resources are offered in the spirit of community. Neither Susan's nor any of its members shall be held responsible for any errors.

If you call one of the numbers and it does not work, please get the help you need from another hotline or your country's emergency number (in the U.S. and Canada, call 911; in the U.K., call 999 or 112; in Australia, call 000; in the E.U., call 112).

UNITED STATES VETERAN CRISIS LINE --

(800) 273-8255

-----------------------------------------------

We have this on "speed dial" and 1st choice because they link me into my VA health care system, can refer my issues to VA providers. More than that, they're effective in dealing w/ specific veteran issues like the VA bureaucracy, PTSD, substance abuse/alcohol, trans-gender . . .

Be advised/warned . . .

The line requires wading through a SHORT phone tree, and the recorded messages can totally piss one off when one is in crisis. But I have called from being collapsed in a heap, ranted/screamed, cried . . . They're trained to get me back on the ground, safe, stable, secure --

Or get me an ambulance and get me to the ER . . . We've done that too.

Stay safe, be well ! ! !  And if you need it, here's the number!
