Do I Look, or Could I Pass, as Female?

New, combined topic.

Here's the deal.  We have too many people cross-posting the same images in multiple topics.  That's prohibited.  Images take up space and cost money.  The Moderators were directed to "lock or combine" the image topics.

Limit your image posting to no more than two at a time.  If we can do that, these topics might stay in the free section of the site.

Obviously, you will need to work on the beard and moustache shadow, and thin the eyebrows.

Hormones will likely round out your face.  Without a profile it is hard to tell about your nose or brow ridge.  But I don't see much of an Adam's apple, or anything "disqualifying."  Go for it!  :)

CaseyB - as Jamie with the long name told, You have quite soft features. Even Your forehead is not such a big issue - I did not see any significant brow bossing, but profile shot is probably not the best for that, and I have seen cis-females with that kind of angle too.  Anyway, You would also be doing Yourself a bit of favour if You dropped some weight - hopefully that would sharpen up Your facial features and allow the new fat to come and soften Your face in the feminine manner. Other than that, I can sort of imagine how You might probably look after the HRT - again I think Your frontal face would look nicer than profile (a lot of us struggle with that), or probably I am wrong -  that shadow and sideburns are taking a lot of attention :). Your "version" with longer hair is nicer, btw :).
And You have nice lips :)

The more I am looking at Your frontal picture, the more You remind me of Jennygirl in her "before" - or I am being deluded? :)

I did not notice weight as an issue.  Indeed, you may want to put on a few pounds, or you may not get T&A.

BTW, "Jamie with the long name" - according to Emily - resolves to "Jamie D" as in the avatar.   ;)

Hi there,

I'm a long-time reader (and massively inspired by some of you) and at 27 I'm finally thinking about taking the plunge. Got an appointment with my GP next week to see about getting referred to the gender clinic to, so I've been trying out a few things.

This is me pre-anything, just some makeup (possibly went a bit heavy on that...).

Any feedback welcome!

Welcome belfastgirl you look really petite and have a basically cute face, the glare in the upper part of the photo's don't help. Perhaps you could give us a side profile shot as well? We could offer a more objective commentary if you did.

Welcome BelfastGirl  :)

The lighting accentuates your brow bossing (brow ridge) and eyebrows.  Perhaps something to cut down on the skin oiliness would help.  I agree with Shan that you have a good starting point.

Wow you have such an amazingly petite figure!! and that dress omg i love it :)
I think hormones will feminise your face really well. You will probably have to shave down the brow bossing at some point (like most of us) but other that i feel you're at a great starting point.

judging by those 2 pics, I think you will make a beautiful woman. your facial structure isnt too manly and it looks like you have a good hairline. I bet HRT will do wonders for you.  perhaps you're right about the makeup. I personally prefer subtle makeup. maybe try that approach and see what the results are.

Ok, I suppose it's my turn. I had an awesome experience last month in which I got a makeover and went out to a bar/night club with several other trans women. It was my first time fully made up and out in public. After the makeover I knew I had to see what kind of results I could produce on my own. Below are some of my pictures from the makeover and from my first attempt at doing my own makeup:

From the makeover

My first makeup attempt a few days later (Also got a wig that I liked much better than the one used in the makeover).

I'm 37 years old and obviously not on HRT yet, but I plan to start in a few months. What do you all think?

I think you have a good start, at least facially! And welcome to the 30+ club, snicker xo

You absolutely pass. That said, I'd have looked out of the reasons CaseyB hinted.

well, just going off this photo your hands seem a bit awkwardly placed and you seem to be wearing a tad too heavy of a makeup job. nothing noticeable of course, you can pass just fine, but I figure we all have a thousand things to work on and it's better to be critical than flattering.

Zoe Louise- Your face absolutely passes in this photo, and overall you would even more if you increased the smile a little and held a more feminine shoulder posture

You appear to have been blessed with a very feminine shoulder to hip ratio, so if you rotated your shoulders back a little bit it would go a long way. Don't be afraid to stick out your chest a little bit when posing like that, as long as you don't overdo it it just shows confidence in a very uniquely feminine way :)

You pass! You have to remember people look at people and often times they don't think anything people just like looking. Or they think you're hawt! Most people aren't out looking to clock trans girls.

My profile photo, from the last last time I wore a wig...

One year removing facial hair, learning how to do makeup, on HRT since 3 months ago... It's true that I did not start to truly work till I started living on my own back in April. My manly features keep haunting me when I look too much, despite being told that with a bit of FFS retouching it would be enough.
