Nice to see a news article even in a university news page.

Saw this article in the Western Carolinian University News Magazine.

The Inner Battle of the Sexes
Kayla Lynch

http://media.www.westerncarolinian.com/media/storage/paper265/news/2007/10/08/Features/The-Inner.Battle.Of.The.Sexes-3018910.shtml

A lot more specific to androgyneity than most news items. A few errors in the article, but the author was at least more focused on informing about "other than TS and CD/TV".

Warning: I was only able to look at the article once, before being locked out of it and ask me to register, which I didnt.

Woah!

How in the world did you come across the Western Carolinian KK? One of our friends handed us the magazine and said read this. When I came across the Inner Battle of the Sexes, I was like, oh, wow.

My impression was that the definitions were Ok but not great, althought its a start. I'll pick up a few copies of it on my way out the building and scan it in.

Its a small world though. We work at Western Carolina University and so I was certainly pleased that this article was printed. I'm hoping to find out if the GLB community on campus here welcomes TG people. We'd love to get to know more people in the area that are TG.

Promise we had nothing to do with this article being printed!
Being given the gift of two-spirits meant that this individual had the ability to see the world from two perspectives at the same time. This greater vision was a gift to be shared, and as such, Two-spirited beings were revered as leaders, mediators, teachers, artists, seers, and spiritual guides

I was just web serfing and it's already in yahoo news search. Guess your university is one "ahead" of the curve. Might be good to get in contact with Kayla or the GLBT to find out.

I want to just encourage you to do this. It has been a LIFESAVER to join the LBGT group on campus and finally meet other transgenders in person, people like us, people that understand me, we understand each other. And theres the whole idea of shared pain, of shared emotion.

I was really worried when I joined, but I was wonderfully surprised. You totally need to take a chance for this!

Since I knew I might get locked out, I copied the text from the article.   I haven't even read it yet.  I just emailed it to my personal account.  It's pretty short isn't it?

I can PM the text to anyone who wants it.  I don't want to violate copyright by posting it here.  Maybe I can ask Kayla.

better than rubber (under) pants rebis.

wouldn't agree with all the definitions completely, but it's a good bit of something isn't it?

Like I said. I think the definitions need refining but a ballpark definition is good enough to get the questions asked when I mention the term. They'd be like "I heard about that it means..." and I'll be like we'll thats part of it but ....

Its nice that this article got printed, but on the online version there was atleast one person that was expressing their thoughtless and blunt opinion on transgendered people. Luckily there were a number of people to respond to this person's closeminded words.
