Pass, not pass. I am beginning to hate that term. Just I have one friend who is really suffering right now. I think that the fact that we have to pass to gain acceptance is ludicrous. What is worse is that we have to pass to accept ourselves. We ARE girls, if transgender oh well.
You can hate that term all you'd like, as well as believing that passing to gain acceptance is ludicrous, but in the end you will find that it is necessary to pass in order to live a well adjusted life as a trans-lady. We are not islands; we live in society. No amount of social reform and acceptance will change the most basic and primal judgment from our peers based upon our looks. Human nature may suck, but we either deal with it or drive ourselves batsh*t cuckoo.
My Endo has met a lot of transgendered women due to him (kinda) being the only game in town. He has stated that "without question" there is a direct correlation between passing and happiness. Happiest patients = passing patients. Miserable patients = unpassable patients. It's really really sad, but you
cannot change the reality of the situation by wishing it away.
We do, however, agree on this point: We ARE girls... on the inside. No one sees your insides in a mall, or when buying groceries, or at the bar, etc etc~
