VA therapist in Colorado?

(1/1)

Sarah_Evelyn:
 Hello All,
This being my first post I shall give a brief intro. I'm 41 and have been dealing with gender issues all my life. Sadly enough I didn't realize until recently that they weren't really issues at all. I had no clue of myself and repressed feelings for years. Now that I have made those realizations, I have started telling some close friends and a couple relatives. I have to stay publicly in the closet for a few more weeks due to still being active duty in the military. I retire in a few weeks then will be moving to the Denver area.
This leads me to my question. Does anyone have any experience in the Denver area with VA therapists or recommendations for one? I'm aware of the VA's transgender policy and know they now have clinics in other locations. I'm just hoping to find an experienced gender therapist in the VA network in Denver. Thank you in advance.

Dena:

Yes the Denver VA has trained endos  on staff.

I got a referral from my pcm at the COSP VA (awesome doc) to the Denver VA endo. She said they have good experience and a programm in place. Before that appointment I wound up getting an appointment at planned parenthood. Since I really really liked the professionalism attitude and friendliness at the clinic I cancelled the VA appt. I figure why change a winning team.

Lots of vets here ...Thank you

Sara
