Not normal. Go see your surgeon ASAP.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

I had a single stitch pop open that resulted in what looked like a 1" or so "tear" in that location. (That's one of the parts of the skin that's under the highest tension post-op, between normal movement and dilation, so tears are more likely there anyway.) The stitches were supposed to all be dissolved within two weeks, but that one only lasted about a week, which was annoying. However, it did heal cleanly and without a scar. You probably should consult with a medical professional - a local one if the original surgeon is out of the question - to be sure that it's not excessive and doesn't need to be re-stitched, but it will likely be fine.

I had some minor skin tears in that area, no problem with stitches and no bleeding, just stretched to the point of being a bit raw. My doctor had me treat it with Neosporen ointment for a week and it healed up.

Hi everyone I’m a new member, 31 years old from Southern California. Been on HRT 7 years, and post op 3 weeks today.

I know this is an old topic but I’m Experiencing something similar but on the labia on both sides. I’m curious about what the original poster ended up doing? What did your surgeon say and how long did it take to recover?

I’m three weeks post op and this problem developed going into my third week. The surgeons office didn’t seem concerned they said it’s not uncommon and to keep the area as clean and dry as possible which I have been doing. About 4 days later I feel like the raw looking tissue is starting to form scabs which I think is normal. There’s no pain(unless I pee and the pee touches the skin), no fever, and absolutely no bleeding, it doesn’t make dilating difficult in any way, it simply looks scary lol.

Anyway I’m hoping I can find other girls that have experienced something similar, can y’all chime in regarding recovery time and all that? Thanks for any replies in advance
