The app has gotten notably worse with the updates from the past few months unfortunately. Far less realistic, more limited non-premium features.

Thought I’d try the free version.
All it seemed to do was to lengthen my hair perhaps two inches.

I do not believe Faceapp shows a very realistic outcome of a Transition. It would be kinda cool If it did. It shows how important a smile is to be beautiful. If we put the artificial smile on it can be a really nice picture.

What I find interesting is the fact that we can not just use it for portraits. Therefore it is possible to use it to improve the androgyne shape trough Sports and Weight loss If you are like myself in the closet.  Altough this is somewhat dangerous because If it shows us How far we still need to Go it can also give dysphoria.

But ultimately its nothing More than a Game and that’s the Most important thing to take from it.

I posted a picture of myself (girl-mode, but no makeup and my shortest hair) to my male-mode public FB page.  The only comment I got was from someone saying how GOOD the deepfakes had become! (haha)

Hugs!

I have used it as a game to see what I may had looked like when I was younger and female. I used a picture that it recognised as female and then made myself younger the results were stunning. I would have loved to have looked like it showed

I tried it a couple of times but all it did was to make my hair about two inches longer.  No face changes, at least to me, that went beyond what light makeup would do.  It did not make me look as good as so many do here!  :(   All well.  Some ladies have it, and some don’t!

Then I stopped using it because I heard the faceapp software keeps all your photos and that seemed creepy.

I get really beautiful results with Face App, but I feel like it really depends a lot on the lighting and the angle I take the photo.  I've had some pretty disheartening results too.

If I were to transition and got results anywhere near this, with FFS, I'd be over the moon.  I'm trying to not put too much stock into these photos because I'm not really sure how realistic the app is, or how much surgery that would actually take

It's weird because I could always imagine in my mind's eye what I wanted my body to look like but I could never really figure out how my face should look.  If I saw this in the mirror I'd be amazed.  I did add makeup, which I'd wear anyway, but I'm pretty suspicious that I could ever be this pretty, though it's fun to imagine.

@JamieH
Dear Jamie:
Earlier I saw that your were on the Picture Posting Instructions thread and WOW, you have successfully uploaded 2 of your Face-App photos.  Very nice results indeed.

As interesting as the FaceApp pictures are...  hair, makeup, eyebrows, mannerisms, stature and body build, voice and other gender identifying issues are for you to custom handle beyond what HRT magic can do.  Keep reading the threads here on the Forums for more ideas on what you can do.

I am eagerly looking forward to reading your updates and seeing more photos as you progress in your transition and of course, only share and post what you feel comfortable doing.

HUGS and best wishes to you.
Danielle

Thanks Danielle, yeah I absolutely love those results, but I've been doing a TON of research on being trans in general and particularly transition processes and procedures and one thing I'm very aware of is that people need to be realistic, especially about surgical results.  I'm not sure those results are realistic, she looks a lot younger than 40!.....but I like how it feels to see "myself" as her.  Focusing on looks can be fun, but the real work is internal.  I'm just hoping to continue to accept myself, find some bravery, and see what life could be like.

IF, I ever get to the point of really transitioning I will likely journal about it on my blog thread (I'm obviously a bit of an over-sharer lol).  A very strong part of me is really pulling me towards fully embracing myself but I'm just not quite there yet, with lots of doubts, fears, anxieties.

FFS often includes a facelift, and HRT improves your skin, so gender reassignment DOES make you look younger. :)

Love Face app. It lets me be the person I see when I look out from myself as opposed to the person I see in a picture or the mirror. It surprising how a different hairstyle different glasses different lipstick can make such a difference in your appearance. Another thing I stumbled on is just how changing your top can make such a difference on your overall appearance.
