The Pixune
« on: September 19, 2017, 03:45:39 pm »
Hello everyone, IRL I am going by Ashlynn, Rose-Quartz, (lastname withheld).  This is a combination of my parent's chosen name (had I been born female), my love for Steven Universe, and my wife's input.

So what's a Pixune, you ask?  Why, it's a combination of the words "Vulpix" and "Kitsune" which, overall both translate into "Fox".

I'm 33, have two children biologically, and my wife and I are considering a third together.  I have only just begun my transition, playing with RLE in the house, and outside the house (on special occasions).  My first "real" outside RLE will be tonight at the movies.

I like video games - Xbox, and I play primarily Overwatch.
I also am taking classes to learn Mobile Development with the hopes of becoming a video game designer one day.

My son is 4, and my daughter is 13.  I can tell that she doesn't like the idea of losing a "father" all that much, but she seems understanding.  I can be a pretty grumpy guy sometimes, but my anti-depression meds have helped me with that considerably, although I would like to replace those meds with hormone therapy soon.

I have been here before in the past, mostly lurking, but with a new life comes a new face, and I'm ready to be more open with my wife, Susan's user SenterKitten.  We were off to a rough start but everything seems to be falling into place for us.  She's worried that she won't love the new me, but I remind her that I've always been a woman on the inside - there's nothing manly about me.  I'm just trying to get my outside to match who I am truly on the inside.

Love, Ashlynn

I really wanted to say "Hey Ash, whatcha playin'?" but as you already said Overwatch the reference doesn't really work.

... Ahem. Anywaaaaaaaaay. Hi!

I am planning on starting some extra mobile development courses myself soon once my actual college course loads thin out some. I'm curious, are you taking classes in person at a college, or through an online program? I've been leaning towards giving Udacity a try since their android development courses are Google sponsored. Tried to jump right into mobile development from desktop with libgdx, but I never found the time to wade through years of out of date videos and mediocre Mapt books.

Christmas songs are pretty messed up. Frosty is a sentient being with the life expectancy of a horse fly, Santa Claus watches naughty children sleep, and Rudolph is a stark depiction of undisguised bigotry. At least Baby, It's Cold Outside is pure and has absolutely, positively no negative connotations whatsoever. ... Oh, wait.

Hey silly!  I'm taking classes online through the ECPI university website.  It's pretty good.  I'm still taking the basic college classes, but soon I'll be taking the CP ones.

Hey I was wondering if I could copy your profile Icon and modify it to make it look like a humanoid vulpix.  Would you be ok with that?  I will need a profile pic soon!

Also, thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

Sure, it's just a random googled image of Roll from Megaman Legends. :D Do as you will with it!

I've been doing online college courses myself for an IT bachelors from Georgia Southern. Nice to have a completely online curriculum but wow are their programming courses out of date (and on the terrible side), hopefully you have had a better experience. (If at any point they ask you to make an applet in this day and age, beware!)
