Finally beginning to be 'out' and own my identity.
« on: December 07, 2017, 12:26:58 am »
Hi everyone,
I hope youre all ok.
i thought id start posting on the forum, ive been certain i was non binary for nearly 2 years now, but ive never really been open about it.
When i was younger i had some bad reactions both from conservatives and liberals. The more liberal people were ok with the idea of non binary people. But it was the type of non binary person i am, Im androgyne. and obviously some of my gender identity is going to be formed on societal expectations of men and women, what got me in trouble was when i explained what stereotypes i fulfill, and how i express myself through these stereotypes, and a lot of people werent happy as they wanted me to seemingly do away completely with describing activities or clothes in a stereotypical way, which i could understand if i was talking about non binary people and generalising, but i was talking about myself, and the people trying to shut me up werent trans themselves.

But im feeling more secure now and looking to really be more open about my identity.
looking forward to it, and to knowing you  all.

Hi JP welcome! I'm a 40 y/o mtf trans-woman in the UK. I think I'm lucky as I identify (near-enough) as binary female so I still 'fit' into society without causing too much fuss! I'm glad you've found your confidence and place in things .
There are lots of wonderful people here from across the spectrum. X
