i got a phone call and it was awful.
« on: December 31, 2017, 11:39:36 am »
i have an on-and-off boyfriend. he's off right now, with somebody else, and he'll probably be off for good. he's horrible to me - he has extorted money from me, cheated on me, and i've had bad experiences with him that he refuses to apologise for. i have very few friends i can actually talk to properly because i'm a very isolated person nowadays. today i had a very bad panic attack and called him, as he does sometimes to me, in the hopes that he would at least talk to me. he did not, and instead got his girlfriend and friends to call me, and to call me things like 'crazy' (i'm moderately autistic). this was bad. the worst thing though, was that they called me vernon at the start of the call; even though vernon is my name, nobody calls me it, and it makes me a little uncomfortable because it makes conversations seem very formal and official. i'm verny to everybody. i tried to say this; i asked them to please stop calling me vernon, because it's not what i like to be called. they kept on saying 'so you would rather be called eve?/i'll call you eve then/so you're eve'. i tried to say that everybody calls me verny, but they kept insisting that they call me EVE. i ended up telling them to just not call me anything, considering i do not want them to pursue contact with me. they started to laugh, and they started calling me eve. i'm still crying and i honestly just feel so hurt that somebody i trusted would do this to me and make other people do it to me, too. kind words would be appreciated. thank you.

I am so, so sorry that this happened to you, Verny.

Having trust broken is one of the hardest things to get over, I totally understand that. Because sometimes it's the hardest thing to place in someone to begin with.

*extra big hug*

Sweetie, you deserve better. You deserve so much better in life than someone like that. It's clear from your post that he clearly doesn't care about you. And uses you. You are worth so much more than that, Verny, and you don't deserve to be treated that way by him, or anyone.

The best thing you can do, for yourself and your own state of mind, is forget about him, Verny. You don't need him to talk to you, okay? I know it's sometimes easier to go with the devil you know, as it were. But you absolutely do not have to, and should not, put up with things like that. You're not crazy, you're Verny. And you have the right as a person to not be made to feel bad by others. For their own amusement or anything else.

It sounds to me like they just wanted to get to you, and they did. Verny, don't give them the satisfaction. You're a good guy, a good human being, and you've done nothing wrong.

Hang in there, okay? You will get past this. Focus on what you want, and who you want to be okay? Forget about those other people. They don't dictate how you live your life, only you have that right. They don't deserve your consideration, they really don't. They aren't important enough to shed tears for, Verny.

You are valuable, and you matter. Who you are matters. What you want matters. Never forget that.

Falling out of love is difficult and painful and at this point, I think it would be best for you to make it as quick as possible. I suggest that you block the phone number so you no longer receive calls from them and set about building a new life free of your former boyfriend. If you encounter him on the street, say as little as possible and then make an excuse to go about your business. It will continue to hurt for a few months and there is little you can do other than to surround yourself with the company of others who's company you enjoy. I hope your new life will be better than the old one.

Hi Verny,
You don't deserve being disrespected. When people betray your trust, it is the worst. There are good, supportive people out there. Seek out new friends and leave the mean idiots in your dust. Big hugs to you Verny.
