Almost 4 weeks on spiro and estrodial and my breasts hurt
« on: January 12, 2018, 05:04:39 pm »
OK, this must be the start of developing.
This tenderness hurts but it is also very, very cool as I love that things have started.
Does it get worse?
I already had "moobs" and I am wondering how to hide these things.
Don't get me wrong, I really do want them and I'll take what nature gives me but I also want to remain hidden.
I am 64 and medicare will pay for my orchie in the fall of 2018 so I can stop the spiro pills.
I love the calmness and can actually concentrate now. I build and run my own websites so this newfound concentration and comprehension is a huge plus.
So, what kind of shirts do I wear to hide my breasts now that they are coming?
Compression t-shirt and an over-sized polo or other kind of shirt over that?
What about hot weather this summer?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm really worried about the hot weather myself. I'm going to be hitting the most likely period of visible breasts right around the area I'm in starts hitting the mid 90's with extreme humidity. Not great weather for heavy concealing flannel or layering. ;D

I feel for you!  I left Texas because I couldn't handle the humidity.  Always fared better in dry heat.  Glad you're a couple of weeks ahead of me.  I look forward to your posts to see what I might expect.  Carry on Sister!

PS:  AJ, I had to look up MOOBS lol.

Cali, I learned about "moobs" here.
Great to be starting on getting those feminine "bumps-out-front" and wonder how big I will get at my age.
Love this site but I am mostly a lurker/learner and everyone is very generous with their time and wisdom.
I am trying to make it a practice to donate every month to help out.
We can't let this site ever go away due to lack of funding...
I lost 25 pounds before I started my transition but my "moobs" never went away (yay! - head-start!).
I live in Michigan - don't tell anyone but we have only 3 cold months. The rest of the year is perfect in the spring and fall and summers are the best except for a few intermittent muggy days.
From 2010 to 1015 we almost had no winters at all.
I seem to be enjoying the "irritation/slight pain" of breast development. It tells me I am actually changing physically.
I find myself massaging them a lot:)
I plan on wearing stretchy compression t-shirts and wearing baggy polo style golf shirts over that.
Since I lost that weight, I won't even need to go shopping except for new shorts.
I'll put up with the heat as I want these twins to be a part of the rest of my life.

Well AJ, it appears we are the same age, and while I'm not sure if mine or MOOBS, they can be cupped in my each of my hands and while I've only been on HeaRT for about 10 days, my nipples are very tender and I've been wearing a sports bra.

It will be interesting to see what develops.  My mom wasn't that endowed nor was my youngest sister, my oldest sister was however so we'll see about the genes.  I'm thinking a B maybe.

Hope you feel better :)

Thanks Cali,
Maybe we should stay in touch as we are similar in age and timeline for HRT?

Hi AJ and Cali too,

When mine became noticeable, I began wearing a bra. I found that a bralette was handy in being light weight yet still able to tame my new direction indicators. What are they? Nipples. The pesky got excited about what was to come and began pointing it out under my t-shirts They stayed excited for several months as there base continued to grow. A sports bra or a bralette can minimize the obvious.  Have fun it's just begun.

Hugs,
   Laurie

Sports bras are your friend at this stage. They will help flatten things out a little plus protect your nipples from abrasion once they start bouncing around. I have been wearing polo shirts since starting HRT. I also lost quite a bit of weight. Initially I wore a men's large, but now a small fits. However I have been wearing medium sized shirts to help hide what is going on. Some of the more comfortable ones I have found are the Hanes Get Cozy Lace Pullover ComfortFlex Fit Wirefree Comfort Bras - could they possible have come up with a shorter name? Although my band size is 36, I bought the XL size and they are very comfortable. I hope posting this link is not against the rules! I do not work for Hanes or any of their subsidiaries, nor do I receive any form of remuneration from them.

Are sports bras or bralettes noticeable under a t-shirt? It seems like they would be. Unfortunately, it's really about the most I can wear here without having a stroke.

A little but really depends on what style you choose to wear. My favorite ones are Nike women’s swoosh sports bra. Has the racer back style and does a good job squishing everything down. You will be a very happy girl when you take it off though if you are wearing it all day like I do.

Has anyone tried something more gender neutral like compression tank tops? (Maybe even female ones that allow for breast room but still look neutral? Are those a thing?)

Darker colored t-shirts would probably work. I typically wear an women's V-neck t-shirt under my polo shirts to help soften any lines from the bra. However this won't work for me much longer. Although I am only about an 'A' cup, I am still growing. The building I work in is usually a bit cooler than I like so I always wear my coat or jacket at my desk, I have been doing this since long before I started HRT. Once it warms up I will lose my last line of camouflage, which is one of the reasons I plan to come out in late March. I could probably delay coming out for a few more months, but Jessica has been hiding for over 40 years and she desperately wants to come out and play.

I think most people really don't look very closely. Unless something is really obvious their minds just ignore things that are only slightly different. I told the one co-worker who knows about me that I don't think any of the folks I work with should ever consider becoming a private investigator. Only one person has said anything, and that was a comment about my hair roughly six months ago. I have not had a haircut since Dec 2018, and I have been wearing women's jeans exclusively since August. Either my co-workers are being extremely courteous, or they are totally oblivious.

A sports bra is good but try not to get the ones meant for high impact activity.  They are not meant to be worn all day..or even half a day!

Once my breasts started to hurt it didn't stop. Some days its worse than others, but there isn't a day they don't. I prefer a slightly padded sports bra to provide support and a bit of protection.
Where am I going today? I don't 100% know. Will I enjoy the ride there? Absolutely.

Totally agree.  Without the sports bra mine kinda stick out thru the shirt about an inch - pointy little devyln's they are :)

I've been wearing this style daily for over 2 years.  I wear short sleeve dress shirts on weekdays and golf shirts or similar on weekends.

I'm a 64 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.  I am exploring where I want to take things and recently talked to my doctor about HRT.
