A federal judge has ruled that Idaho must provide birth certificate changes to transgender people reflecting their gender identity. The decision recognizes that transgender people are entitled to heightened protection under the law because of their history of discrimination.

This is big for those of us born in ID, TN (like me), OH and KS. Not sure how this is going to pan out for other states, especially TN, but it's some good news and a step in the right direction. The court also states that birth certificates should not be amended to out a person, but have the new information totally replaced.

I wonder what you will have to do to get that reflected on birth certificate now? Also that will make it easier for other ident if your birth certificate can be changed.
