Contrary to what many people, including the U.S. president, appear to believe, transgender people are not basket cases unable to function in difficult jobs. They are human beings who lead happy, productive lives, writes Emma Teitel.

I know this is a really late reply to your post but thanks its uplifting and I'm glad someone is dispelling the incorrect assumptions this is a mental illness (its NOT) and that treatment doesn't help in the overwhelming number of cases (It DOES)  - Jane
