Greetings everyone!
Been busy with all the current issues plus much more, wow what wild time. Finally now, I am getting a chance to catch up on reading and checking out the many posts here on SP, side effect of isolating at home!
I came across a phrase the other day that I thought was very appropriate for our mindset.

"Our life is what our thoughts make it"

I can not recall where I found it, to the person who quoted it, thank you!
Hope everyone is holding together in these tough times!

Thank you for sharing that terrific and wonderful quote.  I found the author and the meme:

Again, thank you for sharing, you and others are always welcome on this thread.
Continue to stay positive even in difficult times.
HUGS,

"Keep on doing it wrong until you like it that way"

It's ok to pause and consider,  but this quote is helpful versus stalling out with uncertainty.
I’m not getting that tbh - that feels like embracing stuff even though it’s wrong. Probably just me but i’m no fan of continuing doing it wrong and i’m not sure how that’s better than trying to do it right?

So happy this thread popped up. Having a rough time right now. My psychiatrist screwed up and didn’t send in my refills so I’m stuck without my anxiety med until Monday and having some bad anxiety about it. Really trying to maintain positive and reduce my anxiety, but just having a lot of negative thoughts followed by thoughts and wishing I could get my appointment for HRT sooner than 6 months around. So I’m glad to have a positive read now.

So, I was just floating in my hot tub, listening to my neighbor mow her lawn and to the sound of children playing in the cul de sac, and saying quietly to myself, "I love you. I love you." Because I like the way it feels on my tongue. And thinking " I love you" brought you mob to mind. So here I am saying to all of you:

I love you!

Because I like the way it feels under my typing fingers.

@Miharu Barbie
Dear Miharu:
WOW.... thank you for your very nice post and comment.

Yes indeed, in this day and age of hatred, anger and discontent, it is very nice to hear the word, or read the words, that you stated.   Most people don't say and mean "I love you" enough.    Obviously it is important that we show and demonstrate our love for our fellow human beings as well... actions as well as words.

Thank you for wonderful word of love and acceptance.... very appropriate for this Positive Mindset thread.

By the way, NO hot tub weather and NO one mowing the lawn here, we still have lots of snow on the ground, take a look at my Avatar picture that I took a couple days ago.
The temperature here right now this afternoon is 6 degrees (f) going down to minus -20 degrees(f) tonight....

Spring weather has not arrived here yet, probably not until mid or late April as is usually the case.

Thank you for sharing and making all of us on the forums feel warm and fuzzy and loved.... please continue to share your warm heartening messages around the forums and elsewhere.
HUGS and more HUGS,
Danielle

Dear Wendi:
Thank you for re-affirming what so many members here on the Forums have found...  acceptance, support, affirmation, and members here that will listen and lend our shoulders with the going gets tough....   As like-minded members here we are all rooting for each other's success and happiness... we are all in this together and we all are each other's biggest fans.

If you have not had an opportunity yet, now that it appears that all of us have more time to ourselves, it would be a good thing for you to go back to the beginning of this thread... lots of good suggestions, good quotes from helpful people and it is a great way to help any of us to get a positive outlook on life.

I just wanted to say this morning...

Now more than ever maintaining a positive mindset is just so important, as the and weeks and months wear on in the age of "social distancing"

Be grateful for your health, be grateful for your life, be grateful for those we can share with. Get outside each day, exercise your body, it helps the mind in so many ways.

Staying positive because it's a matter of survival  :)

Great advice CynthiaAnn! It would be easy in these times to get down but starting positive is so much more fun and enjoyable.

My glass is always half full at least. My wife gets a little upset that I don't look at the negatives enough, but life is too short to worry about what could go wrong... :)

I so relate to that.  Squashing positivity with reality (or so she thinks)  Why not focus on going forward in ways that work rather then obsess about things that didn't?  Or even just readress things that didn't with a new approach?

Ever since I came out to myself, I feel more negative emotions than positive.  It is so difficult to focus and truthfully very daunting at the prospect.  This virus pendamic made it so much more difficult due to my coping mechanisms taken away.  How does everyone cope? What are some of the common things you all do?  Thank you.

Danielle (and everyone):

Thanks for this topic thread. I find myself coming back to it inspiration now and again when I need an emotional lift.

Some things that get me through the day are:

You can’t love anyone until you accept and love yourself (this has been Hard one for me until very recently).

How can I be batter today than yesterday?

Practice giving a stranger a random act of kindness. (It’s a real kick to make someone’s day)

Be joyful and make people around you laugh and smile. Happiness breeds happiness!

Hugs!

Holly

For the longest time, I would constantly ask myself, 'What is wrong with me?'

It's hard to say, maybe it was something middle age-related, a Spirit talking to me....I don't know, but two years ago, a Voice out there just whispered to me:

'Nothing.'

That epiphany really allowed me to love myself in a more complete manner, and when we can do that, we're better for everyone else around, too. :)

It took over 40 years to realise, and believe, that what I am NOT, is a mistake.

The truth is that there are two important things to remember;
1. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has challenges in their life
2. Everyone is in their own unique situation requiring specific coping mechanisms- rarely are there complete answers to be found in others lives and stories

Hun, coping means finding positives and focussing on them. What I do is;
1. Dress every day like it’s a normal day - make-up included
2. Make sure I message 2 or 3 friends every day to check up on them
3. Be just so vain and admire myself in the mirror and think how amazing it is just to be me every day
4. Record 3 positives in my diary every night
5. Have some achievable targets

It works for me
Keep your chin up hun xx
