So happy I finally found an aviation thread on here!

Been flying since the 1980s, 5000 TT, ATP/CFII, CRJ-900 captain.

I still teach general aviation on occasion.  I still have some bucket list aviation goals.  Get back into gliders, get helicopter qualified, and build an airplane.

I am surprised at the number of gender-variant people I find in aviation.  Back when I identified as a crossdresser, during the days of steam-powered internet, I would hang out on the CD chat rooms (anyone remember the old IRC?).  Somehow aviation would get mentioned and the room would turn into a hangar-flying session.

Welcome :-)
I am always so very impressed with the quality of people who are aviators.  Nicest bunch of people ever!

Hey, I love aviation.  I’ll follow.

I am presently trying to get a medical certificate to become a student pilot.  The FAA is making me jump through hoops.  Fingers crossed that I pass their test.

Another thread that will certainly be of interest to our "Flying" members
can be found in the "Hobbies" sub-forum.

The FAA is good at that. By definition they’re not happy until you’re not happy. (Sorry, old joke). Fortunately most medical issues are waiverable if you bury it in enough paperwork.  Have you considered BasicMed or is that not an option for you?

Best of luck! Let me know how it goes.

Zoom is better than IRC for pilots, because they can see your hands when you start saying "There I was..." :D
