Dear Forums Friends:

****Here are the instructions for you to follow so you can include pictures in your postings and replies on the Forums... and also you can post them on your Private Messages:   (note, you can not send a Private Message until you have posted on the forums 15 times)

FIRST OFF:   It is best to use a desktop or Laptop computer because phones and pads usually do not have the button functions to do what is needed.

Step 1:  Go to Imgur.com  (you do not have to sign up as a member there)
Step 2:  Click "New Post"
Step 3:  Click "Upload Images"
Step 4:  Drag picture from your computer to Imgur download box, or copy and paste, or enter URL
Step 5:  Put your cursor on the upper/right of your downloaded photo on Imgur
Step 6:  Go to the "down arrow" and then select "Get Share Links"
Step 7:  COPY:   "BBCode(forums)
Step 8   PASTE:  To the body of your message/posting/reply

That should do it.... BUT again be aware of the pixel size of your photo..
.....  keep it under control and not much over 1200 W x 900 H....  if you are confused about that detail and how to do it then don't worry because when you post a photo on a Personal Message or on the Forums it will automatically be reduced.   Trying to upload or post a super large photo on Imgur and then download it on the Forums will take longer on a slower connection.

Now, I am looking forward to seeing all kinds of your pictures....  and if you don't want to post a picture on the Forums you could always send and include pics on a Personal Message, but obviously only post pictures as you feel comfortable doing it.

On imgur.com if you do not choose to sign up with a free account it is automatically set to private... but later  if you want to have later control of your uploaded photo and be able to delete it from showing up in areas that you posted it then you should sign up for a free account..

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Addendum and suggestions to those using my Imgur.com instructions and having difficulties posting pictures.

IF you are having problems, try this....
It may work for you if if you sign up with free account at Imgur.com....
... I know of other users that are all of a sudden having problems with pictures being posted and showing up on their posts.......
Signing up with the free account seemed to solve their problems when attaching images to the forums and private messages.  It seems from my investigation that "free" membership is NOW required to get the proper LINK codes for you pictures that you want to embed here on the Forums.

***NOTE:  By the way, when you have the free Imgur.com account you can control and delete your photos at a later time from showing up on the Forums posts and anywhere else that you post them.

Please let me know if this works for you or if not!!!   I have further suggestions that could solve future issues.

I'm sure there's no problem with necro for this thread, short though it may be, because it's useful, and it took me a while to find it.

I just wanted to "bump" this picture posting thread so that newer members will be more aware of how they can post photos on their comment replies on threads and PMs.

This seems to have become a bit more complicated.

I just had to upload the photo, then go to the images page which has all of the images I've uploaded, then click on the image I wanted to get a window that allows you to obtain the bbcode link. You can't just use the standard URL inside img and /img tags because it doesn't work; I tried that!

@Ellie_Arroway   Correct, as you noted and as my instructions indicated, it is the BBCode that is essential for your image from IMGUR to be displayed directly and immediately on your postings and PMs here on the Forums.   
...you can of course just post the URL of the image but then the reader of your posting would have to click that URL to view the image.

More picture posting help follows:

if you are not using a laptop or desktop, but are instead using a Phone or a Pad,  you might want to try TapaTalk instead....  that Link will show up at top of the page when you make a post on the Forums with either of those devices.

If you have further difficulties, pleas let me know.

For those that do not use a laptop or desktop computer here are some easy instructions for posting pictures on the Forums using Tapatalk ....from our beautiful member @tgirlamg   aka: Ashley

Hey Girl,

Tapatalk Easy Peasy Intructions from IPhone

Select “profile” tab then “forum profile” from top of page... hit “choose file” on that page and select pic off phone and hit “done”... then scroll to bottom of the same page and hit “save changes”

Posting non avatar pics is a bit more involved but avatar is easy and no hosting site required!
