I need help with my transition MTF 15y/o
« on: November 24, 2018, 09:15:06 pm »
I’m new here, so sorry if I mess something up in the delivery of this.

So I’m 15(1/2) years old, and I need to do a DIY mtf hrt. I know that is a bad idea, and that is why I am coming here. If there are any ways, be it knowledge, or otherwise, that you can help me, I could really use it.

I live in a conservative(political), devout Christian family, and I am not out to them, nor do I intend to come out until I have started the transition, because then, they will have to support me with it. If I were to come out before I started hrt, they would never let me do it(out of loving concern, but they don’t understand what I’m going through).

Since I can’t come out to my family and I can’t wait until I’m 18(when puberty has done its full damage), I have to resort to DIY, even though I know it is dangerous if done wrong, which is why I’m here.  I live in Georgia, US btw.

I am much more careful than other people my age, and I have done a good amount of research on this. I just need to say that, because a lot of 15y/o’s are very dumb when it comes to permanent aspects of life.

First, welcome to Susan's Place. A moderator will be along shortly to give you an official welcome.

VLance, DIY is a bad idea. No matter how careful you may be, no one on these forums would be doing you a favor by actively supporting this. I realize you are in a tough situation and want to start as soon as possible, but without parental consent it is virtually impossible. For now, the best thing to do would be to find a support group or counselor to help you understand more about yourself and prepare you for the day you can start your journey. Until then, as painful as it may be, without parental consent you will need to be patient. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but everyone on these forums will probably give you a similar answer.

I didn't start HRT until I was 54, and I think I am coming along fine. You will still be young enough for HRT to perform years of magic, so do it the right and safe way under the care of a physician.

I have heard from others about online services that let you send in samples where they test it for estrogen and testosterone levels. Is that an actual thing? I am fairly competent, and I should be fine with blood tests and advice from others here.

Hi VLance 🙋‍♀️ Welcome to Susan’s Place, I’m Jessica!
It’s always nice to meet younger members as they start on a very scary road.  Well it was scary for me when I started at 61.
You mention going the route of self medicating.  As you have also made note of that you are aware it can be dangerous.  That really is an understatement.  A doctors supervision is necessary for the correct dosage to be determined.  It isn’t just a made up number, and is entirely an individual thing that the doctor adjust as deemed needed.

I see that our lovely Northern Star*Girl @Alaskan Danielle has greeted you. She was so nice to supply some very helpful links that will give you handy tips that will help you here.  Please give them a look see.

Hugs and smiles, Jessica
