I like TWO kinds of pie.... Hot Pie, and Cold Pie
Rainier cherries never even make it close to a pie at our house. We'll stand around and eat them as fast as we can wash them up!Caela
Raspberry pie, sour cherry pie, and Key Lime pie so tart it nearly hurts to eat it.You can see I like acid.
Savoury: Steak and Stilton pieDessert: (more of a cake girl than pie) apple and cinnamon pieJessica xx
I read somewhere that when served a slice of pie, such as a slice of apple pie, typically Americans will rotate the plate until the pointy end of the slice points to the person.Others, from other lands, typically just start eating the pie.Chrissy
Wait, I do this...except, I kind of point the slice towards to my left shoulder. Because I'm right handed, the pie is therefore pointed at a 90 degree angle for a natural cut of the pie with my fork at the pointy end. But my question is: how can other people not orient a pie towards them for fluted pie crusts (which are typical for the US)? You would never want to start on the thick, sometimes hard crusty end, right???Sarah
I think a nice slice of key lime pie would be great!Chrissy
A strawberry pie with whipped cream sounds good right now too!Chrissy
There used to be famous restaurant in Baltimore called Haussner’s whose most well-known dish was the strawberry pie, and it would have met your craving perfectly. People who ordered that pie never forgot it, and there are tons of recipes on the web that try to duplicate it. This looks like a pretty good adaptation, although the real thing had a heavy dollop of whipped cream on top.http://www.kitchenepiphanies.com/mile-high-strawberry-pie/There are a couple of bakeries in Baltimore that always have strawberry pie on hand for sentimental reasons.Sarah
