Yes too many goodies around for the next few weeks, BMI was okay though. Still (after saying this last year) need to lose some to get into my summer clothes and to aid my recovery when I go for surgery.

Working my way through the holiday goodies, not dared stand on scales! Have an old cooking for slimmer's book with calorie counter in the back, need to keep my count between 1500 and 1000 a day . Well at least my usual lunch time salad works out at 150 ish ? Just need to stop nibbling and do portion control for dinner as well as NO puddings.

@davina61
Dear Davina:
I am rooting for you....   I know that losing that unwanted "holiday" weight can be a difficult task
Hang in there, watch your calories, portion control, and eat healthy and low calorie snacks if you are
having a snack attack.

HUGS and best wishes to you....
Danielle

Trying to lose weight can be hard because it requires changes in habits.
You could say that about most things that require behavior change involving a perceived sacrifice though.

People spend loads on gym equipment /going to the gym when you have lots of equipment at home already, been doing step ups using my short set of steps (2 rung) for 5 mins and that got blood pumping followed by arm exercises using a 6 1/2 lb cast cooking pot . Doing short bursts to start with to kick start my system.

That is good.  Do not forget to do some stretching.

Would it be fair to say you are somewhat motivated to do that in this scenario!

Is your doctor looking at BMI?  If so, what is his max?

I would no longer be obese (BMI over 30) if I weighed 227.

If he is going by BMI, do you know whether he looks at the men’s or women’s BMI chart to make the determination?

So, what BMI does he require you to reach?  <30?

I have been heavy most of my life, and I am trying to get down to a weight that would give me the option to transition in the event that other things in my life didn’t prevent it.  I am not ready for a consultation with a doctor, but I am interested to have a target.  Right now, my target is 225 (which would put me in the overweight category rather than obese.  But, that is 45 lbs away.  So probably half a year at best.

Yes 30 , need to lose 3kilo . Think that's about 7lb . Its annoying as my BMI was 30 before holidays.

The good news is that weight put in during the holidays generally comes off quite easily - though bad weather doesn’t help as it’s hard to be active isn’t it!
You can do this no problem - especially given what you have already done!
