Been spinning Taylor Swift's Folklore and Evermore albums on wax a lot lately. Her style is so much more mature and sound ethereal compared to her teen pop albums (which are kind of fun in their own way). I think she's really grown up and finally found her authentic style with these albums. Kind of corny, but I see her journey to her authentic self as having some similarities to my own journey. From faking it as a country start (I still like her country music, but tbh, it's fake), to trying to settle into pop, to growing up to a real folk/indie sound. Really dig it.
Separately, been on a huge Peter Green kick lately. I was never a Fleetwood Mac fan and didn't know anything about him really. I ordered a box of curated vinyls based on a survey of what I like, and ended up getting his Little Dreamer album in the box and I can't stop playing it. Now I'm going back and listening to all the early Fleetwood stuff with him as the front man. Nothing against Stevie Nicks, but Peter Greene is Fleetwood. He's a monster on the guitar, Claptonesque really, and the pain of his own dealings with severe mental health struggles really comes thru on his later albums like LD. Like Clapton, his soul comes thru the guitar strings.
