Spring drives me crazy
« on: April 15, 2019, 01:40:21 pm »
Girls,

Spring drives me crazy.
I yearn to put on a bikini and tan; to mark myself female.
I’ve stopped shaving my legs to avoid looks when in guy mode in shorts, but this triggers stress for me.  Maybe I could shave them for Labour Day, and avoid guy mode for the last of the season.
Wondering where I could go anonymously to have a picnic in fem. mode, is a regular thing.
I see the spring clothing and it has me churning inside ... especially when I realize they don’t have my size anyway.  I want to look young, not matronly.
Where did you go when you were early in transition, and not fully passable?
What spring, large size, clothing did you find?
Where is our deserted island?
I’ve lost weight to get bikini ready this year, but where?  I thought of finding a momentarily quiet beach, for a bikini swim ... while holding a boy’s suit to change into if my privacy is interrupted.  I always seem to be looking for space to just be myself.
Let’s plan some nice fem. activities to anticipate, to destress with.

Maybe find a trans or trans friendly friend that has a pool? I know it's tough early on. I would dress en femme late at night and hide under the cover of darkness. After midnight there's rarely anyone out and about. I know there's the allure of feeling the sun on your skin, but until you're ready to take that step, that's my best suggestion.

Spend a weekend in Palm Springs, California.  Stay at one of the boutique motels near downtown.

Everyone there is cool and tolerant, no worries.

Hello again Lauren

I started just like Stacy with going out en femme in the evening when it is dark.

I assume you are over stage one and that you may consider just going out for a walk in the park en femme in the daylight? That really gave me confidence and then you may pluck up courage to walk to the mall and have a cup of coffee? This way you still get the benefit of the sun (or the wind) on your body.

It is natural to be nervous at the start of transition and one should always maintain one's privacy until one feels the time is right. My advice is to take this matter gradually - one step at a time.

I wish you success on venturing out as yourself whichever route(s) you choose to take.

Hugs

Pamela  xx

Hey girls,,

Great ideas.
Stacy - I have been out just in my backyard at night.  I’ll try walking out a bit to get the feeling of wind under a skirt, ooh!  Also great idea to find a friend with a pool. I don’t have that open friend yet, but maybe I could volunteer to watch someone’s place ... such a nice thought.  For now I lay in my hammock in the porch in my bikini, just unseen by ny neighbors reading my Cosmos.
Carly - Palm Springs sounds wonderful.  I imagine you living the dream there at some patio with friends, and going to have your hair done,
Pamela - You are right.  I did go out in the day so to speak.  A few times my wife and I went to the beach.  We have a beach tent for privacy, and just wearing a bikini bottom to swim was wonderful.  In the tent I would wear the top.  To get there my wife would drive, and I would wear my LuLu Lemon shorts.  It feels crazy being so far from boy’s clothing ... out, well just boy’s bottoms.  My boy’s T was my only security blanket.  I’ll try to work up the courage for a quick picnic in a park with my nice LuLu Lemon shorts and a femme top.  If I have my security blanket T, I should make it without melting down. Might apply nail polish to make it a girl’s time.  Oh, and I have been going crazy looking for the slightly femme cycling shorts.  I bought a women’s pair and they get a lot of use, but only the label inside marks them as such.  I was looking for the slightly short inseam style, but girls are wearing the butch longer inseam now.  How could they be shifting to a male look, just as I want to shift to a slightly female look.  I try to hike the leg up a bit for the look, but it’s not the same.  Did anyone out there find that style in a slightly stealth look?
Thanks for the ideas.  My head is swimming in them now.

Your friend,

Lauren

You should be able to find short shorts at the thrift store.  Or, as I did, on Amazon at closeout prices!

There is an absolutely great group of girls like us in Oklahoma City! They hold events at a gay hotel complete with pool, bar and restaurant. All extremely private.

Hey girls,

I got my new bike shorts. I was so excited it surprised me. They are nice and short. The add claimed they were for biking and yoga and running.  Well they don’t have the heavy pad normal bike shorts have, and feel so light.
It’s amazing how subtle styling differences can change how you feel.  They are just so nicely femish.
As usual no incidents while wearing them.  I just felt great.
I couldn’t stop myself from using my hair trimmer on my legs ... maybe just a bit shorter I thought.  Femininity in stages can be fun.  I think half the fun in transition is in the journey, and fear rushing to a conclusion would be less fulfilling.  Is it the torturing of my fake male persona that is part of the fun?
Maybe soon I’ll wear them with the girl’s top that was my fem dare biking item last year!  Ooh yah!!  They seem to make me faster - flash!

Hugs,

Lauren, in cute shorts

I feel that. I hate spring and summer anymore. Watching all the women wearing skirts and tank tops and everything. It sucks.
I was just down in Disney for vacation and that was a nightmare, seeing all the girls.... I've still got another 3 years before I start transition.

In regard to swimming and the stage where you have breasts but don't look female I just put on a rash suit top and mens swim wear and did it anyway. Later I found a suit with a skirt that hid the bulge (pre surgery) and just did it. Sure some people looked at me funny. I don't care I won't let people who I don't know stop me from being myself :)

I finally kept my legs shaved a couple years ago
« Reply #11 on: April 27, 2019, 05:57:36 pm »
I use to shave my legs in the winter, then let them grow out in time for spring shorts.  I always worried about how long to leave them hairless.  Then a couple years ago I finally said I am going to keep them shaved this year.  Being tan does help people not notice.  I never had 1 single comment from anyone.  Heck, it almost bothered me that I had grown the hair out again all those years for nothing.  Oh, I was ready with all my rational excuses, but in the end, I didn't need any.  I swim, and the chlorine soaks in and causes me to itch, it also breaks it off anyway.  I ride a bike, so it is easier if I wreck to care for the wound.  I hike a lot, and it makes it easier to find ticks for safety, etc. etc.   Ok, you got me, they look much better in a skirt or dress if they are smooth and tan.  ;D   They do feel cleaner and cooler in the summer too.
