Transgender Main Character

<< < (2/3) > >>

Alice V:
Allazandra, you probably misunderstood this topic. We discussing games where main character is transgender here :) Though ME was great, its protagonists are strictly fem or male. As far as I know, Cyberpunk 2077 have strictly fem protagonist.
Don't know anything about Warframe.

Yeah, I see that I didn't quite follow the question now. I was looking at it from the view point of games that let you play out how you identify since I've yet to see a game that addresses a transgender player character. As for Cyberpunk I'm pretty sure it's suppose to allow a male or female character.

Alice V:
Not exactly TG, but in that VNs main characters are crossdressers:
My Life as Maiden
Highschool Romance

The only ones that come to mind are Birdo from Mario and Poison from Street Fighter.

Jrpgs sometimes have ambiguously-gendered characters, but they're always villains-- probably to drive home the theme of them being social misfits or something.

Can the gamers here recommend console/computer games where the protagonist can be or is transgender?

Much thanks!

Kind of an old topic but... Layers Of Fear 2. That game is very much about the character being transgender. And you have to decide through the choices you make, whether your character is male, female or... well... let's just say it's a game with a very binary slant.

You have to build the character. It isn't a set person. It's for you to decide. It's actually not far off a psychological evaluation in gaming form, haha. At its most basic it's "an actor", who has agreed to play the role of a character on a cruise ship. It's a very narrative experience. The "Director" is none other than Tony Todd, of Candyman and Final Destination fame. But it's actually way deeper than that. There are multiple endings based on the choices you make. And it's more about the internal struggles within a transgender person than it is an up front horror game. Epic had it for free a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how much I want to say because I don't want to spoil it for people. But it is probably the most trans themed game I have played in a long, long time.

There are a lot of very profound dialogue reflections in this game. On the surface, it's about a brother and sister. But it actually isn't. It's one person trying to choose between them. And one of the more poignant quotes goes along the lines of "You lived a life that wasn't yours. Dreamed dreams you had no right to dream. Too afraid to be yourself, but too weak to be anyone else."
