Kallys weight loss
« on: May 12, 2019, 04:35:48 am »
Well i started at 108.5 KG mid April 2019 The GP told me i have just about high in cholesterol, and my BP still needs medicating. So having left surgery i set myself some goals as i feel awful. First Goal was to get under 100 Kg by end of May 2019

9th May down to 101.1 Kg - Bought a fitbit and walking now 11000 to 20000 steps a day, i do 15 mins on a vibrating plate with 5 Kg weights on each hand. Then 15 mins on treadmill and 10 mins on bike. Played squash for first time in years on 10th and was not physically exhausted after an hour.
Eating chicken, fish most nights, or make a chilli from turkey mince which last 2 to 3 days as contains more beans than mince. Substituted all potatoes and rices for veg and more veg. Actually having porridge or special k with yogurt breakfast. Wrap for lunch with chicken or salmon. NO SNACKS or Sugars except my 1 glass wine before bed :) Drinking 3 litres of water a day
Dropped down 3 inches of my waist so far.

Goals :
Well i used to have a 28 inch waist when i was 22, can i get close to that again ? I would love too.
End of June 95 Kg
End of July 90 Kg
End of August 85 KG - BMI level good and start Hormones - Hope BP is good and Cholesterol is under 5

End of December 75 KG

Hi Kalandrina,

It isn't easy, but my waist is within an inch of what it was when I was 30 years younger and 20 pounds lighter!  I was really underweight back then. I'm now at a normal weight with a bmi around 20.

Good luck with your weight loss and exercise program.  Mine is mostly in the yard, as I grow all sorts of flowering shrubs.        I've also been exercising whenever I'm watching television.

Congrats on the weight loss.

Weight loss can so dang hard! I've started intermittent fasting and I feel that it helps. I have not lost weight, but my scale says that I lost fat and gained a tiny bit of muscle. Muscle is smaller and I will take it. I am trying to lose 30 pounds myself. I think it is 13.5 KG that I need to lose.

I really like my Fitbit. the heart rate is ok, but not exact but it is a good estimate. The food log is easy and is ok, but you probably already know this. I learned when I started tracking my intake that I was eating about 3,500 calories daily. I dropped it down to about 2,000 to 2500 and still can't lose weight.

Apparently I will have to bust my butt to lose weight.

I practice strict portion control.  I love candy, but don't eat it out of the bag or box.  I count pieces into a bowl, to  avoid overeating. I'll also eat it while cooking,  Similarly, when I get home after shopping, I'll carefully measure out portions for cooking later.  And only cook one portion.  An exception is meatballs,  I'll cook a dozen meatballs and eat four of then each night.   How much I eat has the biggest effect on my weight,

Thanks for the kind words.
Just trying to stay under the 1000 calorie a day mark when possible, but never go over 1400. Burning on average 2500 to 3500 a day :)

That is great!

I've noticed that exercising has moved my waistline so that it is right below my ribs,  above my belly button.  At my age  don't do a lot of it like younger people.  It is more for range of motion and flexibility.

Well 9 days to go before end of June, and today weighed in at 95.8 Kg, so lost 2 stone since middle of April. Hard work but actually enjoying my diet and makes me feel soo much better all round. Just need to push a little more for 95 by end of the month. Then aim for 90 by start of August and ready to start all my journeys

Hey Kally...great job. Congratulations!! You're gonna reach your goal in no time at all.

I love that you used the weight term that I said I'm going to start using. That would be the term stone. I really like that one.

I've been trying to lose weight too and so far have shed 7 pounds...or half a stone I guess.  ;D ;D ;D

Its hard work, but i tend to do 8000 steps by lunch, then on treadmill for 3.1miles or 5km in 30 mins. Promised a friend i would enter a 5Km race end of this year and aim to do a 10km next yr.
Diet i am staying under 1000 calories a day intake with a good routine and basically no potatoes, fried foods, pasta and just odd bit of wholegrain rice. Also knocked sugar completely out
Breakfast is basically skimmed milk with bran flakes and granola mix with a spoonful or 2 of greek low fat yogurt or bio live. Or a small porridge
Lunch is a wrap with salmon or chicken and salad.
Supper is chicken or salmon with vegetables and a small squeeze of light mayo, or a turkey mince chilli.

Any snacks are yogurt or banana, and a couple rye bread rivitta (which i can never spell)

Coffee with skimmed milk in morning 2cups......cannot do without this. 1 glass wine for medicinal sleep help :)

I have one day off a week which allows me to pig out a little, which is usually a Friday after an hrs squash

Well i seem at present to be fairly settled around the 82-83 Kg mark, which i never thought i would get to. Still want to get to 75, but that will take a lot of time. I cycle now around 30-60Km a day and feel in the best physical shape i been in since my early 20's. For the first time in a long time i can actually wear body fitting dresses without looking fat, and have dropped my lower half from a size 18/20 to a size 10/12. Top half well shoulder and chest always stuck at 38/40 and a size 16 :)
I will be pushing for the next few months just to see scales show 79.9 :)

I am so very happy for you... your weight loss is certainly worthy of celebration.
It is such a great feeling to get into smaller sizes of clothes..... so very personally rewarding.

Wishing you well as you continue on.
