I was wearing a longer wig yesterday than I usually do when going to Lidl's. When I got to the cashier, she told me it suits me much better than the shorter wig that I usually wear when I go there. She said it makes me look younger!

I said I took it as a compliment, which I did. She said she was worried that she might have been offending me. I told her I don't get offended by people saying things like that!

So it made me feel really good!
@Ellie_Arroway we'd love to see a pic. It could go here or in the Fabulous thread, since it will look fabulous!

Whenever I fresh bake breads or pastries it is all I can do to not make a pig out of myself while they are still warm out of the oven...

A friend just stopped by and shared with me some of her fresh baked croissants!

Gosh, they are so good all by themselves!   :)

@MichelleA
Dear Michelle:

Way to go, girl....  A big step forward.   Very affirming for sure.....
Getting rid of all of your male clothes is akin to burning the bridge behind you.... there is no going back.

it's now all about the present and future Ms Michelle.

Hugs,
Danielle

Be a good example of good behavior.  Always be kinder than needed.  Be tender to others.  You are as beautiful as the thoughts you think and the words that your speak.   Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding.  Knowledge and action shown without love is not impressive.  If you look for the good in people you will find it. Healthy relationships are so important to good living.  Serve others.

Good living, joy, unity, love, and happiness can come from following these practices: Never let selfishness or conceit motivate you.  Regard others as more important than yourself.  Do not limit attention to only your interests, but include the interests of others

It is not usually about how fast you transition, it is about how well you transition.

Although I mentioned this in a more specific thread, I got to see my lady bits for the first time this morning. While they are nothing close to "pretty" at the moment, the sight put a huge smile on my mask-covered face!

Today I feel happy because I didn't forget to take care of my HRT (like yesterday)  I felt like <poo> until I remembered.  I also am happy because of the posts on this thread.  This is a mood improver!

I got a new outfit in the mail today I’ve been waiting months for. So excited. My first fully female outfit that I’ve purchased myself.

After 2 years of living with fear and anxiety about my transition, the last few days I've begun going out in public presenting fully as female.

I was incredibly anxious, & needed my family & friends with me for support, but I did it, even going into a sushi place I used to work at today. I didn't get a sideways glance from anybody. I don't even think my former coworkers recognized me. It was incredibly liberating.  ;D

I was at my two week checkup yesterday. I had seen Dr. Stiller’s co surgeon in Coeur d’Alene two weekends ago while my wife and I were there for brunch. While at my checkup, he told me this story:

He was with his wife driving down the street and saw us walking towards them. He said to his wife, See those two people? What do you think? Both born female? His wife looks, and replies, Of course! He tells his wife, We operates on one of them. She says, No! Wait! Which one?

The smile stayed on my face for two hours.

I probably should not tell my wife this story...

HA! I thought so too, especially coming from the wife of a surgeon, most of whose work is trans folks. I would have thought her "Trans-dar" would have been quite sensitive!

 ;D

Interestingly, I FINALLY went to the DMV to change my name on my drivers license. Although it was 18 months ago I legally changed my name, I had not gotten around to changing the DL. So, I went in and handed the clerk my DL with K---- as the first name, and my Passport card that said Kate. And I said I wanted to change my name. She looked at both IDs, and looked up at me confused, and said, What? I repeated my request. She said in a loud voice, "You want to be KATE? Well of course! I get it. And, I had no idea. I would never have known." Which, then of course, everyone else knew. Good thing few people could be in the building at once.

But the point is not yet another smile. The point is about what it takes to pass. I have NEVER thought I came even close to passing. (And, one comparison in the You-Look-Fabulous thread confirms it daily for me.  ;D ) But I got to the point of not thinking/caring/worrying/anything about it. I am just me. And... Lo and behold, it seems to work.

OK. The confirmation is quite nice. But this is the biggest A HA in my entire transition: What you LOOK like is NOT the biggest factor in "passing." (Thank goodness for people like me, I think...)
