It was Alan Watts who introduced me to Buddhism, many years ago. It was the late 1970s, and I was feeling nostalgic for the 1960s, which I was too young to have enjoyed. I came across Watts' book The Way of Zen in a bookstore, and I thought, "Zen was a big thing in the 60s. I should read that." I did, and the rest is history, as they say. I have been a Buddhist ever since.
I have read quite a few of his books, and still have several. He was a bit out of the mainstream of Buddhist thought, but was certainly a great popularizer.
