I haven't seen my favorite movie mentioned yet (but I didn't read every page so it may be on there somewhere). My all-time favorite movie is Lonesome Dove. I've seen it at least 100 times. Which is saying a lot considering it's 6.5 hours long.
Some of my other favorites are:
Platoon
Saving Private Ryan
We Were Soldiers
Dawn of the Dead (the remake)
Independence Day
The Rainmaker
Finally started the process of becoming the real me! 5/20/19
Came out online 5/20/19
First time coming out face to face 6/3/19
First therapist appointment for HRT 6/3/19
Got my letter for HRT 6/10/19
Came out to my mom 6/18/19
Started HRT 7/12/19

Lonesome Dove is one of the greatest westerns ever and I also like the sequels and prequel.

A post by Paul Muad-Dib reminded me that Mars Attacks! is a really good sci-fi comedy with an amazing cast.

I love em' all Mary. I didn't really care for John Voight as Woodrow at first, but he grew on me a bit the more times I watched Return to Lonesome Dove.

Robert Duvall would have won an Oscar for his portrayal of Gus had the first movie been released in the theaters. Gus is probably one of my favorite characters of all-time...in any movie.

Since I was asked. . .

Paul! OP said fav movie not EVERY movie (and some of you "quoters" are wearing my mouse wheel out)!

In no particular order:

Orlando

"But on one condition: Do not fade. Do not whither. Do not grow old" The movie Orlando follows the same relative timeline that a lot of us older transitioners have followed.

We miss Kate! Where's Dennis? Nero we'll love your off-the-wall questioning FOREVER!
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

Oi beg to differ.  The OP asks about favourite movieS and the original poster, Lessa, listed 8 of her own and added more later.   Sorry about your mouse wheel, LOL, I didn't know that they still existed.  Have you thought about investing in an optical or a laser mouse?

Yes, many must be missed.  Of the posters on the first three pages of this thread, only Dennis, Jessieanna Rose and Nero still have open accounts.  Dennis hasn't posted since 2015, Jessieanna Rose hasn't posted since March and Nero is with us only in spirit.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is definitely in my top ten.

Mars Attacks! is in there as well.  I like offbeat.

I am unsure but I did like the Herbie and Indiana Jones movies.

One that I should have added to my list is Planet Terror.  To get the most out of it, you probably need to have lived in a rural area in the sixties or seventies, with Saturday nights at the Farmers' Hall being the only "cinema" in easy driving distance.  Planet Terror even has a "missing reel" to make it even more authentic.

Planet Terror's fake intro has the style and music of cinemas in the late sixties and early seventies, and creating a fake movie preview for Machete was a nice touch.  I was actually disappointed when Machete was made into a real movie, as I thought that it was cheating.

Maybe Pixar’s Inside Out.
I’ve seen it enough times that I could recite almost every line in the movie word-for-word, which is interesting considering how dialogue-heavy it is.

1. Shawshank Redemption
2. Les Miserables (1978 version)
3. Papillon (1973 version with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman)

I never realized it until I was answering another question on here about movies that my three favorite movies are all about escaping from prison. I wonder what that says about me?

My favourite spy movie is The Quiller Memorandum starring George Segal.

He is supported by a fine cast including Senta Berger, Max von Sydow, Alec Guinness, George Sanders, Robert Helpmann and Günter Meisner.  The screenplay is by the great playwright Harold Pinter and the music by John Barry.  The lovely theme song, Wednesday's Child, is performed by Matt Monro.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is memorable.

I loved Mean Girls, I even went to the cinema for that, lol.  I also loved Jawbreaker which kinda reminds me of it.

But there are so many, I would have to compile a list of 20 at least to be fair.

Watership Down.

So sad, I'm bound to always have a good crying session with that one.
