The way I read everything is that they gave money to the group that funded the pastor involved.

I know the article is old and the law technically not on the books. They still supported it in that manor and they still give to anti LGBTQ Christian organizations when there are plenty of non hostile Christian groups they could give to.

They  have not cleaned up they're donations as they'd like people to believe.

It doesn't matter how friendly a particular franchise may be, they still pay a franchise fee so some of their money goes to support groups that work against us.

A good friend of mine from church, now in her seventies, grew up in a hardline Mennonite community. Her father ran a community brothel and started pimping her out at the age of six to other men in the Mennonite community.

Is that what they all insider trading?
You can try to make them looking as good as you can, they will not see my money, even if the owner is Mr. Nice Guy.  If he would have been really nice, he would have invested his money in a venue that does not support hate against LGBTI people!

I read the Snopes article and came away not feeling a whole lot better for it.  Mr. Cathy (and his company) should have clearly denounced donations to causes that are clearly political in today's environment, if as they say they avoid political issues.

That said, I am certain he has made a fairly tidy sum from his investment in this company over the years (good for him).  What he does personally with his money is none of my business, although I might privately protest.

I get your point Bluejaye, about the amount given and actually utilized by these organizations.  I believe that feeding them, in any amount, allows them to continue their campaigns of hate and distrust of others.

Rainbows appearing, the pressures were burst
Breezes a-singing, now feeling good
The moment had passed like I knew that it should

As much as I like chicken, I'll go to KFC. It is my right to boycott any company or organization that uses political muscle to enforce hate.

While this discussion is interesting and has merit from many points of view, sometimes a person just wants to have a cow!

Just my humble opinion.
