That’s amazing.

I desperately want to see the northern lights in person.

A cold but very beautiful night sky last evening.....

@Margrit
Dear Margrit:
Thank you for your very kind words.   I had the similar picture taken when I had taken the "Covid mask" off but it was out of focus...  perhaps I will soon post a new Avatar showing me without my mask.
Thank you again for your nice comment.
HUGS,

A fun and happy evening last night:

Last night for dinner after I got off work I was invited to dinner at my sweetie's home.
She fixed a wonderful dinner, perfect for a cold night:
Baked Chicken Breast, Mashed Potatoes, Homemade gravy with Mushrooms,
Green Beans with bacon,  Bread Pudding with caramel topping and whipped cream

Then, after we had dinner we sat in front of her fireplace to watch the warming fire and
to sip on a glass of wine and have lots of enjoyable conversation and time together.

I trust that all of my readers and followers are doing OK and staying healthy and safe.

UPDATE:  November 05, 2021, Friday morning, 7:55am

I woke up today to a C-O-L-D and cloudy morning.
(minus) -11 degrees (f) below Zero.

It is starting to SNOW now and is expected to continue until late afternoon.

It was a beautiful drive into town, I love the freshness of new snow.
I just got to work at my office, and I am heading to the next door coffee shop to get my
morning jolt of caffeine and perhaps a bakery item.

The days are getting much shorter now and the dark nights longer as the Northern Hemisphere
approaches the Winter Solstice in about a month and a half on December 21st.

Today's sunrise and sunset stats:
      Sunrise  9:44am
      Sunset   4:35pm

Hugs and best wishes to all of my readers and followers.

Hi Danielle
Oh dear, that is so amazing.
The menu sounds very very delicious to me   :D
By the way I love gravy so much, i spoon it down to the last drop. How did she make it?

Danielle, with such short amount of daylight now for you, going to and from work in the dark.  You have to plan things that you want to do in the daylight.  I do like having the four seasons.

Update:
Wednesday, November 11, 2021

The days here are getting shorter by leaps and bounds every day and the dark nights longer.
It is also getting very cold now and it will only get colder as December, January and February approach.

The temperature outside when I awoke early this morning was
minus -13 degrees below ZERO (f)

Historic note:
The coldest temp ever recorded here was minus -68 deg (f) below Zero which happened on January 7, 1965.

I relocated here in January 2017 (5 years ago) and the coldest temperature that I have experienced in
my town was minus -58 degrees (f) below ZERO  .....
...that is definitely bitter cold and if the wind is blowing, even slightly, the cold cuts right through you.

No new snow the last few days but there is still a lot of snow on the ground from recent snow storms.
The road into town from my home is still snow covered in spots.

    Sunrise:  9:58am
    Sunset:  3:53pm

I love the stargazing on the clear, long and cold nights.  The sky is so very bright.
No "big city" light pollution to spoil the view.

HUGS,
Danielle

NSG, why did you choose Alaska for your home and how did you choose the town where you live?

Danielle,

You must really love living there to put up with cold days. I can only take the cold (+32F) for a few days when I am at my cabin in Big Bear, CA before I am ready to head back down.

NSG, why did you choose Alaska for your home and how did you choose the town where you live?
Dear Oldandcreaky:
Most all of the answers you are seeking are found in my blog threads listed at the bottom of any comment that I post, but here is a quick preliminary summary of my initial time in Alaska..

I had been "informally" transitioning for many years while in college but I finally got serious and started my HRT transition in March of 2015 and was able to go Full-Time in December of 2016.

In my previous male mode life I was an accounting executive in a mid-size multi-state company in the Midwest...
I also was a moderator in an Accounting Forums which had members from all over the USA... mostly CPAs, Financial planners, Tax Consultants and other accounting executives.

One of the long time members in that Forum was an older gentleman in Alaska that was retiring and because of his failing health and his age he was planning to close his business, but he was very concerned for his clients that had no where else to go locally other than a 3 to 5 hour drive to the big cities.

I decided to fly up there to visit him and he was thrilled that I was interested in taking over his business clients and start my own business there.
He introduced me to the landlord of the building that his office was in, and he also introduced me to some of the town representatives....  all of that went very well so I came back home and just about immediately quit my job, packed up and went "North to Alaska"  ....   I grew up in the Northern Midwest, .. so I am quite accustomed to cold weather and snow... my parents and extended family are there.

The other factor acting as a catalyst for me to pull up stakes and move over 1,000 miles away was the fact that I
was not accepted and supported by my family, my parents especially, even to this day.  I even had acceptance difficulties with quite a few of my "former" friends back home...   so it was seemingly a very good decision to leave.

For more details about my first year or two in my new town you should consider going to my following thread:
            I am the HUNTED PREY
  https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,236395.msg2123029.html#msg2123029

There, as you read some of my earlier comments and posts you will find out more about my life, business, and the unexpected various new friendships and romantic relationships that I found myself trying to figure out.

Any questions?  Feel free to ask.
Thank you for reading and thank you for your replies and postings.

HUGS and best wishes to you....
Danielle

Thanks for sharing your history, NSG. So sad that someone as kind, upbeat, and successful as you would be shunned by your parents and some friends. That happened to me too. Thankfully, I've made new friends. It seems you have too.

What a wonderful opportunity that was presented to in Alaska by that kind gentleman and the others in the town who were so welcoming of you coming there.   Do you feel if you Family/Friend situation back home had been more open, accepting and loving, that you would have taken that big leap to Alaska?  Sometimes, bad things happening to us, act as catalyst that moves us towards positive outcomes.  Such was my big move from Louisiana back Home to Texas.  In the end, it sounds like everything is correcting itself for a total positive outcome for you and that is fantastic!  You are an inspiration for us all.  "All", as in, everybody on the planet!  You have won the hearts of many.

This breaks my heart!  You are such a beautiful person, to be rejected by your parents and friends is unconscionable. :'(

Friday evening November 12, 2021:

It was a very busy Friday at my office today...
... also quite cold today too....  minus -17 deg(f) below ZERO and
it has been SNOWING all afternoon and evening.  ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Right before I locked up and closing my office my Toothfairy sweetie surprised
me and stopped by to take me out to dinner...

She ordered a Grilled Chicken and Avacado sandwich with French Fries

.... and I had Fish and Chips, Cole Slaw.... and lots of Tartar Sauce
