I've heard that weather in northern areas will be more severe.  It will be in the 50's and 40's here this week with light snow at end of week.

I agree with Pammie that its been a short year that seems to have flown by.  I hope winter does so as well!  Stay safe Danielle.

That's a funny quote above, liked  :)

46 and cloudy this morning here. We had a fresh cord of Douglas fir delivered yesterday, and had a nice work out with the wheelbarrow, still have to stack it. BTU, QRV

Stay warm Danielle

CynthiaAnn, your wood must have come all split. I would expect that Douglas fir would split easily compared to our oak where I am.

Saturday October 31, 2020

Cold last night (minus) -4 deg(f)  and more cold to come early next week perhaps down to (minus) -20 deg(f) with on and off snow showers.

Halloween night tonight ....  I am just staying home, keeping my fireplace going, and staying warm.  My toothfairy sweetie is coming to my home for dinner and some conversation time in front of my fireplace, also most likely sipping on a glass of wine.
- - -  - - - - - - - - - -

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 1st .... Alaskan daylight savings time ends making the mornings lighter and the evenings darker.
The days are already getting much shorter... only 8 hours of daylight and 16 hours of night.   As we approach the winter solstice on December 21 the sunlit days will become very short, only a couple hours that the sun is above the horizon.

HUGS, and enjoy your extra hour of sleep!!!

Brrrr. Good idea to snuggle up by the fireplace with a glass of wine.

I wish they'd do away with daylight savings time. I prefer the light in the evening. Also with many suffering from seasonal affective disorder I believe staying on standard time is a better choice.

Hugs

Nope, too cold, doesn't compute....

I prefer to be cool when I'm sleeping, but that's bonkers.

Stay safe. X

I don't know how you all do it up there...we're having our first cold windy night, and I'm already feeling the winter blues.

It definitely appears that the winter season has arrived for you Danielle.  Sounds like you have your bed outfitted for a snuggly warm sleep!

Davina, I had to look up "Simpsons Sky" to see what it meant.  Sounds beautiful.

Have a great week all.

I spent my Saturday today indoors doing some baking and cooking.  I invited some of my Gym-Gals friends (includes my Tooth-fairy sweetie) over for dinner and games tonight.   I baked some Molasses Cookies for our snacking after dinner during our game time.

The last few days have been cold, near Zero deg (f) and below.  Tonight we will be getting more snow and cold... and a Winter Storm Warning for tomorrow on Sunday.

I am well prepared, warm and cozy, full propane tank for heating and my propane fireplace, full gas tanks on vehicles, warm clothing, lots of food in my pantry, etc.
HUGS and warmth to all my forums friends and followers,
Danielle

Yes your cookies look great.  I saw that scooper you used in a previous photo and I had to get one.  It makes a difference!  I hope you had a good evening with friends and the snow wasn't too bad for them traveling home.
