UPDATE:  Tuesday, November 24, 2020

It looks like it going to be a snowy, windy and cold next couple days...
Thanksgiving day on Thursday will be beautiful with fresh snow... I will enjoy the holiday in a warm and cozy house with Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings.
I have invited my tooth-fairy sweetie to have Thanksgiving dinner at my home.

I will have my propane fireplace on so I can also enjoy some toasty toes time with my tooth-fairy sweetie.

HUGS and blessing to all my forums friends and followers.

Danielle when you wrote "also I am so thankful for thoughtful and caring people that are a part of my life" I can see your priorities are in order.  It seems without caring people around us our lives are never as full as possible.  I'm happy for you!  I do wish you and the tooth fairy a warm and hearty Thanksgiving.

I thought at first they might have been beets, but if its canned cranberry I approve too!  Yummy.

Last night got very cold and right now at  11:00AM it is  (minus) -16 degrees below Zero(f)

Last night after dinner it seemed cold in my home so I lit up my fireplace... and I decided to do some baking.  Having the oven on to bake cookies warms my house and fills it with good smells.

This is the time of year I like to make Cutout Sugar Cookies... with colored sprinkles.

@Northern Star Girl

Danielle-

You just seem to live in Christmasland!  Snow piling up, chilly weather, hot fireplace and cookies at the ready!  I hope you had some steaming Hot Cocoa to go with it (with a bit of Kahlua if that's your fancy)

Hugs!

Danielle, you tend to mention weather, so is here the report from the other diagonal side of the country.  It actually snowed here tonight.  I mean, I am sure it won’t stick, but snow is very rare here.

I went to the gym after work and put in my cardio time.  Hopefully that (coupled with the diet) will help me lose a little weight.  Had a milestone on that front today.  Now down a total of 30 lbs since September.  I really want to get down by 35 before Christmas.

I had planned to have a family Thanksgiving, but on Wednesday my wife (a Nurse) was told that she had been exposed to someone who tested positive.  They were close and not wearing masks for about 30 minutes.  So, she had to lock down for 7 days.  No family coming.

Anyway, we cooked the 22 lb turkey and will be eating it until Christmas.  LOL.  I have had turkey every meal since Thanksgiving lunch.  Good thing I love turkey.

@Rachel Montgomery
Dear Rachel:

Having fresh snow is so beautiful, I guess that from what you stated that you don't get snow very often... so enjoy it while you have it... even it is for a short time.

Wow-whee.... your gym visits have helped you to lose 30 pounds.... that is not an insignificant weight loss.  I wish you well in your effort to lose another 5 pounds by Christmas... although holiday time is a difficult time to try to lose weight with all the special food and get-togethers.   I wish you well in reaching your goal.

I am so very sorry to read of your cancelled planned Thanksgiving dinner with family members...  wow... 22 pound turkey for just you and your wife.   I am still eating on the turkey I fixed for Thanksgiving.  With the bones and scraps I made 5 quarts of Turkey nooodle soup ...  in the freezer now for later consumption.   I still have quite a bit of nice slices that I make sandwiches with, in fact, I had a turkey sandwich for lunch today.   Tonight I think I will have a salad with turkey chunks.

Hopefully your wife and you have been able to avoid the Covid-19 virus... as a Nurse she is certainly at more risk than most.

Thank you Rachel for coming to my thread and sharing.   Your comments and replies are always welcome.

HUGS and best wishes, stay safe, stay healthy,
Danielle

Thank you for posting your recent comment replies.
Yes indeed, I love this time of year with all of the holiday celebrations.

I love making the holiday cookies and other baked treats.   However this
year with the Covid-19 restrictions I probably won't be able to
bring my homemade cookie and treats plates to the local rest home
as I have done now for the past 3 years.   I will instead bring them to my office to
give out to visitors and clients plus I will make certain that my gal friends
in my weekly gym-gals group and also my book club meeting this month will
get a plate of cookies and treats.

***Question ??? .... what special things do you do, make, or bake for the holidays?

Again, thank you for reading and commenting on my thread....

Wishing all of you well... stay healthy, stay safe.
HUGS,
