Most of you are experiencing nice warm weather so far this last week.

Ahhhh, Valentine's Day is coming up in less than a month from now on February 14th.
My tooth-fairy sweetie has told me to "reserve" that day for her.   
She told me that she has plans for me and her..

I trust that all of you are doing well and doing well in your transition journey whether
it is at the beginning or toward the end....

Wishing all of you happiness and success.
Always feel quite free to post here on my thread, you are always very welcome to

Sadly, it will be a lonely Valentine’s Day for me as I’ll be all alone in New York recovering from surgery. Maybe next year there will be someone? I can always dream while I’m dilating away...

While I was rejoicing regarding celebrating Valentine's Day with my Tooth-fairy sweetie ... it is very apparent now to me that because of your personal circumstances some of you will not look at Valentine's Day as a joyous day to celebrate with a loved one.

For my insensitivity I ask your forgiveness please....

No worries...I mean, I do have the fulfillment of getting GCS done, and that is a really big deal! And I have tons of support from remote corners of the country - I definitely won’t be alone.

Danielle, you should always feel free to celebrate the good things in your life, especially on your OWN thread. Many of us follow you in part because you are living the life and are such a supportive person.

You are certainly not insensitive to feel and express something as happy as your upcoming Valentine's Day. We are (mostly) adults here (laughing at myself) and capable of being happy for you even as we deal with our own setbacks. I'm happy for you and TF and I hope you'll have a fun time.

I am not one of the ones that expects to be alone this Valentine’s, so maybe my opinion on this subject isn’t something everyone will agree with, but I find encouragement and reason for hope in your positive life circumstances.  It makes me feel like maybe there is a way for me to be as happy.  It would be a loss for me to stop seeing your positive reports.

UPDATE:  Tuesday evening 7:30PM Alaska Time
 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Well, I just had dinner at the home of my Tooth-fairy sweetie.
We had originally planned to be dusting off the snow from her
BBQ Grill and making cheese burgers... but it is just too darn cold
and windy to do anything outside so she made Meatloaf instead....

I brought along a Pasta Salad that I made this morning.
         

Typical of the month of January here where I live it has been bitter cold
this last few days with more bitter cold coming.
Early this morning it was minus -29 degrees (f) below Zero and
right now just after dinner it is minus -31 degrees (f) below Zero.

Right now we are sitting on her sofa couch in front of her fireplace sipping
on a little wine before I finally decide to bundle up and go home soon.

Stay warm where you are my friends... 
....I will post more tomorrow on Wednesday.

Danielle, You stay warm too. Being in front of that fireplace sounds cozy. Jamie and I might travel to northern Arizona around Christmas time next year in hopes of spending some time in front of a fireplace and enjoying the winter for a few days up there. It has been cool for us lately to getting down in to the 30's. Glad you got a chance to spend time with your Tooth-fairy sweetie. Hugs

It warms my heart to read your story.  I hope some day that my sweetie and I can find the space to just sit around- and not have a special night- but just a regular warm up the junk food night! Stay warm, and I hope you chose a good wine to sit around and be warmed by!!

Wait a minute...you said that you all were considering grilling outside when you knew the temperature was 20 below?    You do realize that even considering this possibility is not normal in the other 49 states, yes?

I haven’t used that one, we have an indoor gas Kitchenaid grill with vent hood), but if I lived somewhere as cold as Alaska, I’d want an indoor grill (even if it was just George Foreman’s).

I had owned and had  used the indoor grills and indoor smokers in the past.... and the George Foreman cooker too....
I prefer the real thing outdoors....  if it were slightly warmer without the wind and all the deep snow we would have done the outdoor grilling..... but on the positive side, the Meatloaf was terrific!!!

Wednesday morning, at work now.   8:30AM   January 27, 2021

OK now.... it has been bitter cold this last week
but right now this morning it is ridiculously  C-O-L-D ....   
...minus -41 degrees(f) below Zero and with the
wind chill it feels like minus -55 degrees(f)

By the way:  For my friends and followers that utilize the
temperature scale of Celsius instead of Fahrenheit....
    -40 C   =   -40 F

It's a good thing (and a necessity here) that I have an AC plug-in engine block heater
and battery heater wrap in my vehicle... otherwise starting it in the morning could
be a problem...  at these very low temperatures the engine oil turns into sludge and the
battery can lose more than 75% of it's power.. and to make matters worse the
engine needs about twice the normal battery power to turn it over in the extreme
cold temperatures....  Winter tires rated for extreme low temperatures are a must because
regular tires will get still and even crack.   

In the parking areas of most businesses here they often provide
AC receptacles so I can plug-in while I am at work all day.

All of this is why Electric Vehicles are not utilized up here.. .

The good news is that my office is toasty warm.   Just after I got into my office
the Barista from the next door coffee shop brought over a large hot espresso and
some of their homemade cranberry/walnut shortbread cookies  ...
.... (the Barista there is a sweet woman... a couple years ago she was my female suitor #5)

.... and the much coveted PINK LID for my espresso.

OK, but if you like the outdoor grill because you like charcoal flavors, the grill I suggested that you look into is a charcoal grill/smoker made for indoors.  You’d need a good vent hood.

That is the problem...
....in my home there is no vent/hood and I don't want to have a hole punched in the ceiling...

Thank you for the tip regarding the indoor grills.... I looked at the pictures and they would work
if I did have a good vent hood.

I have grilled outside in the winter many times (I am a hardy Alaska girl) but last night the wind was blowing hard and the temperatures were quite cold...  usually that doesn't stop me from grilling outside but there is a limit.
